This is a unique restaurant on the 17th floor of Hotel Angeleno. The views of LA from below the Getty Center are spectacular. The menu is varied and interesting as is the cocktail selection. The restaurant is billed as "upscale" and the prices follow suit....This is one of our favorite LA hotels and we have eaten at West often. Our dinner on a Thursday evening did not disappoint. The only downside was the noise level. We were surrounded by two large parties who seemed to have little regard for other diners attempting to have quiet conversation. The noise level at times reminded one of a sports bar. Hopefully this was an anomaly, but it certainly put a damper on a hoped for quiet, romantic evening during our hotel stay.More

I enjoyed a delicious brunch at West on a Sunday. This restaurant is on the top floor of a hotel, but you don't need to be a guest there. I wasn't. The food was reasonably priced and delicious, There was live music. They validate the...valet parking, so it's free to park. The view is worth going there. I would definitely return.More

Dive into the seafood Mac & Cheese for a great comfort food treat. We followed it up with Mushroom & Spinach Ravioli, Salmon, & two split the Filet & Lobster. As we all shared in the feast, I liked the Seasoning on the lobster, and...didn't want to share the ravioli. he Chocolate volcano was split three ways and enjoyed. The view with the lights going down is great. Try to get a window table, but even though ours was away, we could all see the city.More

Bar/Restaurant with pretty views in the Angeleno Hotel (17th Floor). Came here on a Saturday night to catch up with a friend; it’s a good spot for a date night or one-on-one hangout. You can make reservations online. Valet parking online ($7 after validation at...the restaurant). Credit cards are accepted. Bathrooms are available to the left of the elevators when you come out. Masks are currently required. No-tipping policy at the hotel. We had the option for the dinner menu or all-day menu, and the all-day menu is easier for sharing. The portions were larger than I expected, so we went home with leftovers. Food wise: - The carne asado nachos came with a generous portion of meat and nacho sauce (which I loved as it’s been a while since I’ve had some American-style cheese). - The Caesar salad was similarly large and also had a good amount of shaved Parmesan. You have the option to add meat for an extra cost. - The fried chicken sliders were not worth it. The chicken was really dry and bland, and the bread was not soft. - You can never go wrong with truffle fries. - Chocolate lava cake was more individual sized bud you can split it. I really liked the creamy ice cream that came on the side. If you’re on the West Side, it’s a lowkey spot for some nice views and nice service.More

The best coffee I've had in a long time, and excellent service (friendly but not intrusive) . The American breakfast was very good, plenty to eat, eggs cooked just right, very good potatoes. A little pricey which is why I didn't eat dinner there.

The fries = amazing. My burger = made just how I wanted it. Service = friendly and courteous. West sits on top of Hotel Angeleno, whose architecture is reminiscent of a lipstick tube. Definitely a destination restaurant: it's uniquely positioned just off of Sunset at...405, and once you've arrived, you've got to journey all the way to the top. A journey well worth it. I was here for a lunch meeting, and there's absolutely nothing I could complain about.More

Ever wondered about that hotel you see on the 405 near UCLA when you’re stalled in traffic? Well, top of it is a restaurant called West that is absolutely fantastic. Free valet parking as part of the bargain and an extraordinary view of Los Angeles,...including the saps stuck on the freeway. But the real draw is the carefully crafted menu: it seems like the usual fare at a contemporary American restaurant, but everything is seasonal, fresh, exceptional. Nice wine list, too.More

Staying at the Angelino is convenient for work in town but its just an ok place. And the restaurant at the top is just an ok breakfast place. The french toast was not eggy enough and the we couldn't get out bacon done as crispy...as we wanted. It was early in the morning and the service people seemed out of sorts and disinterested. Still, very useful to have a restaurant there before a big day starts because this is not in a neighborhood with lots of choices that you can walk too. Still, I would say if you want to put out a little effort, you can go over to the Luxe hotel which is a few minutes away and they have a really super breakfast.More

We enjoyed West Restaurant's more casual side during our stay at Hotel Angeleno. Excellent small plates -- especially the fish tacos and the quinoa salad. Nice small selection of on-tap beers and mixed drinks.

When you’re at the hotel in early evening, the last thing you want to do is negotiate traffic to head out to dinner … which made West, on the top of the Angeleno a godsend on a couple of nights during our recent stay. We’ve...eaten on the “formal” side on previous stays, but felt less formal this time, so sat in the lounge area. Service was excellent – friendly and very attentive. Food was very good – we ordered from both the bar menu and the dinner menu. Prices were LA prices, but quality was excellent. If you’re there during rush hour, try the happy hour menu, appropriately titled “When the 405 Stops.” You can look down on the bumper-to-bumper sipping a fun cocktail, like a Road Rage, a @%#! The 405, or a Brake Lights and be thankful you’re not down there.More
