The personable waiter Greg was quick and friendly. The cheesecake as others have said is amazing - more like a pound cake. The entries were very good and the joint was jumping. It's crowded seating so don't expect an intimate dinner but great nonetheless.

The food was excellent and was prepared in the traditional manner. Home cooked and very authentic and flavorful. My one complaint is the service was a bit slow. overall the food was excellent and the service was speedy and the location was great and close to our downtown hotel. Not really the best part of town but just a few... More

This place is a find. First, bring your own wine and no corkage. Second I have not had a bad meal here. I like to order fish. The meals come with vegetables and potatoes. The salmon is wonderful. I've also had really good sea bass as a special. I've tasted others pasta. The lasagne is especially tasty. To find this... More

Homemade pasta...excellent...a little over cooked as it was gummy. The Bolognase was ch Not and hearty, but lacked the good ole Italian flavor. Rather pricey...but decent!

If you want a family kitchen dinner, what happens when you are dining outside for more than 10 days, you should enter this place. Friendly welcome, large choices, good food. Italian trattoria in downtown Los Angeles in a upwardly mobile, somewhat gritty area of downtown. Storefront exterior but very attractive interior with brick walls and Italian motif. Very good Italian food with an impressive menu, and efficient, polite service. Many high end apartments and refurbished buildings in the immediate vicinity and virtually across the street from a brand new, very... More

Have been coming here for years and even though this is my first lunch experience.. I gotta say.. its just as cool during the day as it is romantic in the evening.... really a NYC experience right in LA. You hear so much negativity about DTLA and its usually from people who haven't been here in years! The italian food... More

We've eaten downtown for 10 years and never tried this place. We should have. The restaurant is owned and run by true Italians. The food is wonderfully fresh and delicious, with all the usual Antipasti, Insalate and Zuppe you'd expect. Our main courses were Tagliatelle Alla Bolgnese and Lasagna Della Nonna. The pasta dish was excellent; pasta cooked "al dente"... More

Friendly place, big portions, good prices. Great if you're staying at nearby Level Furnished but don't want to cook for yourself. NOTE: no liquor license yet so plan to BYOB.

There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
