Food, atmosphere and service are all quite good. I found the price to be a bit high especially for breakfast offerings. Coffee was very good and portions were not huge.

I had dinner here and the service and ambience was all very good. I had a crispy pasta dish with beef which the waiter recommended. The beef and sauce was succulent and delicious. Not sure I will try crispy pasta again though! We followed with a selection of macarons - the Earl Grey flavour is highly recommended!

What an awesome experience. The highlight of my LA trip. This restaurant is in a stunning building, but expect crowds. It was extremely busy when we arrived. As a party of 3 we placed our reservation and ordered drinks at the bar. We were advised there would be at least a 30 minute wait. After 10 minutes we were contacted... More

It wasn't cheap to eat here but the pizza my wife had was one of the best I can remember and the lasagne couldn't have been any better. Cocktails were potent too.

From the moment we walked in - to the time we were seated to our table felt like we were transported to another country. A plus service! And the food & cocktails were amazing. The grand finale Soufflé is a must and should be ordered with your entré order since it takes about 20 minutes. Wish I could post the... More

Visited Bottega Louie with a larger group for dinner and was very impressed with the food, drink, and service. It was very busy in the dining area but the service was frequently checking on us and we never waited long for anything.

Met son here for dinner and desert. Nothing to absorb the sound. No pictures, carpeting, etc. so it was hard to hear anyone talk. The macaroni and cheese was good as was the hamburger. Had creme brûlée which was tasty. This place is expensive.

I had the salted caramel macaron and my husband the Earl Grey. Both were amazing. First I should say I was dragging my feet to go. I don't like macarons. Ick. They are usually just tasteless. These are a whole new level of yummy. I think I dreamt about them. Light, flavorful, ganache, salted caramel. Simply amazing. I'll be adding... More

This restaurant is always packed, vibrant and surprising. The food is a mixture of simple French and Italian cuisine at its best. The kitchen is exposed and divided, which makes it more energetic and funky. Don't miss the NYC style pizza and the delicious and vast selection of sweets... macaroons we're our favourites.

It's a neat venue with the really tall ceilings, open kitchen and large bakery. Service was excellent. My friend and I shared the Portabello fries, Carbonnera and a side of Brussel sprouts and pistachios. It was all so delicious and complimented each other very well. I'd recommend sharing as a way to round out your meal since most entrees do... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
