. Top Chef season 2 winner Ilan Hall’s Jewish background can easily be found in some of his dishes (duck latkes, bacon wrapped Matzoh balls) but the joint where the TV show knife fight is filmed does more than a take on Jewish food. It’s...More

What a unique menu and concept. Most items are served with sharing in mind. Just like a Chinese restaurant, but with American food. The entrees were all delicious. The server was great. Very helpful in making suggestions on ordering . Too bad its closing soon,...More

My husband and I walked into this amazing little hideaway two years ago on our honeymoon, thanks to a suggestion from the New York Times' 36 Hours Book. I'm not sure what our expectations were, but they were blown AWAY by the end of it....More

Low lit environment with an open kitchen in an aged building, offering unique food and a very good happy hour. I have frequented this restaurant for years, tucked into the bowels of the Alexandria Hotel building in the heart of downtown LA, and appreciate the...More

Candice is the best bartender. She took great care if us and we had awesome matzo balls wrapped in bacon. My drink was amazing all night long.

We highly recommend Gorbals for an exquisite and unique culinary experience. We tried the bacon wrapped matzoh balls, latkes with smoked applesauce, soy-chili broccoli and a few other shared plate entrees and all were more than delicious - it was a delectable experience to taste...More

Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering
buildings, bustling streets, and industrial
warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of
cultures here with a growing influx of business
professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of
Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts,
bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly.
Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants
