Don't question why a restaurant decorated in Casablanca movie history is serving Mexican food. The pianist is entertaining, it's fun to watch the lady making tortillas and the food excellent. My husband enjoyed making his chicken tacos with the tortillas we saw come from the grill and my seafood brochette was delicious. There are lots of tequila choices too!

My aunties favorite restaurant, she's taken us there three times in the last year. I've always had something different each time, and this time i had the taco /enchilada combo, it was great! The fresh tortillas that they make goes great with the green salsa. The staff is always friendly and fast!

Read and heard a lot about the restaurant since I live in the area and having tried all the best known Mexican restaurants in the West side, my wife and I decided to give it try for lunch this past Saturday. We were escorted to the table which was readily available, we ordered drinks that were served very promptly. I... More

They have some cool Casablanca themed artifacts, a la the classic film, but lunch was a little uncomfortable. The bar was not opened, so half the restaurant was darkened during the day. We split the fish tacos and they were extremely good - I wish we'd been able to go for dinner in order to experience the true ambiance of... More

The drinks here are amazing. They make them table side and they are so flavorful and strong. The food was just OK. I would probably just go there for appetizers and drinks.

As soon as I come in I felt like as if I was in Mexico. Very comfortable ambience, and energetic staff. I ordered the steak tacos, it was amazing. Unfortunately, let's just say I tasted much better rice and beans. They had a vegetarian options. Overall they were great with their service. I would come back again.

The theme restaurant used to be more common in the LA of my childhood. I remember a restaurant called Poor Richard's that was designed for kids, and we'd beg my dad to take us there. The Casablanca is a seafood-based Mexican restaurant done up like Rick's Cafe Americain from the movie. The food is terrific, the tortillas are made on... More

Casablanca is a great find if you are on the westside of LA. The best way to describe it is Mexican seafood with a flair. Great calamari steaks 8 difference ways, hand made tortillas, great atmosphere, and a margarita cart with many different tequilas and mixtures to choose from. Casablanca is my Go To place for out of town guests.

This place is super cool. First of all, they have all kinds of memorabilia from the movie Casablanca, there are pictures and mementos covering the walls. I really like it. Both times I have been there, there has been a man playing music on his guitar and signing. It's very romantic. A woman makes homemade flour tortillas right in the... More

Staying in Venice

Neighbourhood Profile
Venice
Venice has always danced to its own beat as the epicenter of bohemian culture in Los Angeles. Along the boardwalk there are street performers and local craftsmen selling their wares. Original paintings, souvenirs, and jewelry are on display. Crowds of visitors marvel at the sites while weightlifting enthusiasts pump iron in plain view, and skateboarders do their tricks around the skate park. All of it happens under the warm California sun with sprawling views of sand and sea. Heading east, the main drags of Abbot Kinney Boulevard and Main Street are lined with boutique shops, some major retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. Here the ambiance is more relaxed and upscale than the frenetic boardwalk area. Venice is a mostly walkable (and certainly bikeable) neighborhood, full of areas to explore.
