Great, great for lunch when you're visiting the Getty Center! Almost always try to bring friends from out of town to visit the Getty Center and treat them to lunch at the great restaurant. Always enjoy eating here, friendly and helpful staff with a menu...that changes by the season. We shared one of the best cheese boards, everything went so well together, really look forward to ordering it again!!! Also recommend the Cobb Salad, the Soft Shell Crab just wasn't that great, but that's ok. This is still a wonderful place for lunch.More

If you want to add gourmet to your culture, this is a must! My wife and I had decided to go to the Getty and when I arrived I feared I would be hangry while walking in. We split the chicken, the scallops, and a...fantastic cauliflower and leek soup. Our server was wonderful, didn’t catch his name but he was French! We were impressed by the food, the service, and the views and would definitely return and recommend!More

Service was good and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere. We ordered two ceasar salads with chicken. The lettuce leaves were hard and tasted strange (did not look nor taste like romaine lettuce) although the little cubes of chicken were tender. We had to ask...for more salad dressing as the salad was dry and had no Parmesan cheese. Disappointing.More

My wife and I had several hours to use while on a layover in Los Angeles. We took an Uber to the Getty Center, having booked a table for lunch. As an aside, our Uber driver, William, from St Louis Missouri, was an incredible advertisement...for good taxi drivers. He was hilarious, well informed and good company. We were served by the excellent Siso, who really understood the food and wine and knew precisely how to look after his customers. We had scallops, followed by cod - both perfectly cooked and probably as good as any that we have eaten anywhere in the World. It was accompanied by Cambria's Tepusquet Viognier, which proved to be a wonderful wine that amply suited the food. Lunch was the sandwich between two swift but detailed tours of the galleries. What a collection - mind boggling in its splendour and scope. Everyone should visit at some point in their lives. All in all, a superlative end to a three week holiday. And a special word of thanks to William the Uber driver and to Siso the supportive and well-informed waiterMore

We went here recently after touring the center, which is amazing by the way. The setting is lovely, beautiful food. The staff was very pleasant, our waiter was outstanding. We had salads, the peach and burrata and the harvest - both were excellent. The wine...suggestions were great, and reasonably priced for this sort of restaurant. Service was very efficient. We would gladly go again.More

No we hadn't made a reservation. Well why would I? The restaurant was 2/3 empty on a quiet Thursday afternoon and yet we were told that there might be a ten to 15 minute wait. I'm not exactly new to eating out and I asked...poltely why it wasn't possible to seat us , even if they had reservations there was so much empty space that seating two would not create insurmountable challenge . We also asked if we could eat outside on the terrace, but we were told there was no service. Two minutes later an affected front of house conescended to give us a table. As we were being shown to our table, I asked whether it was a sensible policy to take this gatekeeper ,obstructive atritude when the place was so clearly half empty. I was accused of being aggressive in the most unpleasant way. We were shown to a table at the very far end, as if a punishment. 20 minutes into the meal the place was still half empty and my wife noticed people eating out on the terrace. We moved outside. Now don't get me wrong, this is a very good restaurant, with delicious food and wine and it's reasonably priced. It's probably thw best museum restaurant I have eaten in ,anywhere in the world! Add to that , our waitress was delightful , helpful and efficient. We had nearly walked away before we weee seated. Why do front of house behave so foolishly? Why treat well dressed guests with hauteur and disdain.? Their job is to welcome customers and not be obstructive ,difficult and rude. Whatever chips they have on their shoulders should be knocked off immediately as they are giving a bad name to a very good restaurant. They are also letting down the kitchen and waitstaff who are doing a very fine job!More

Our lunch at the Getty Center Restaurant was the best meal we had during our four-day stay in Los Angeles. We both had the halibut, generously portioned, moist and succulent, surrounded by a variety of tasty vegetables. The restaurant is gorgeous, with high ceilings and...window walls overlooking the Santa Monica Mountains.More

My mother and I decided to visit this restaurant without having made reservations in advance. Surprisingly, we only had to wait for a brief 10 minutes before being seated. Our server, Ciso, provided us with excellent attention and displayed an impressive knowledge of the menu.

You cannot beat the views and general surroundings. The food is tasty - not just hot dogs and such. And reasonable prices for a museum restaurant.

What a happy surprise. We usually expect a mediocre experience at a museum restaurant, given the captive audience. This was a great experience. Peaceful atmosphere, professional service (Ismael), and good food (we only had soup and meal salads). Excellent wine list. We felt lucky given...that reservations are supposedly highly recommended but we got a table in 5 minutes at 2;30pm.More

We ate at this restaurant the last time that we visited the Getty Center. It was so good that we reserved a table this time again. The restaurant did not disappoint. We had well-prepared cocktails, had a friendly server, and the branzino fish was wonderful....(How they got a crispy skin over a not-over cooked fish was beyond me!) The weather was so clear that we had a beautiful panoramic view. We consider a visit to the Getty Center a real treat--enjoyable art galleries in the morning and then a tasty lunch in the afternoon. Truly worthwhile visiting.More

Need a world class chef and decent bar tender. The food is bad food you can get anywhere. Went to the Getty and decided to eat at the restaurant, because it Valentine’s Day. The restaurant would not allow reservations on-line or in person - only...walk-in. Ok with us no problem. We ordered two drinks - one glass of red wine, which was really bad, second try another brand was just ok. I ordered a Long Island ice tea - really bad too much coke. Second drink, I changed to G&T (Hendricks) it was as an alcoholic’s dream - all gin. Reordered with instruction to add more tonic - same result. I felt bad for our waiter who was a gem. He apologized and said they had a new bar tender - really? I had the Duo scallops - interesting, but not great. My partner had Leek soup - not flavorful, but edible. Main course Barzino - a small size fillet- not what we expected. I had pasta with local mushrooms and a chicken breast. The pasta w/mushroom was favorable - best part of the meal, but the pasta was over cooked and chicken breast was over cooked and dry. I ate half of the pasta and a few bites of the chicken. I can chicken with feathers if it’s favorable-I Like chicken that much. But this really bad. Don’t waste your money here.More

There were a couple gluten free items I believe. Definitely fresh salads, fruit and vegetables. The website should have the current menu items.
