Went for lunch with friends. Pleased to find a vegetarian option on the menu. Lentil loaf with mushroom gravy and charred Green beans with mashed potatoes. Winning!! A bit overpriced but good flavours.

We were a bit misled. We had the impression that the restaurant was on the roof top which was not the case. The roof top did have a few snacks but not the menu we were expecting. However, we did stay and eat and we're glad we did. Food was really good and the service was excellent.

Reviewing as a non-hotel guest visiting twice at daytime: this place has some nice views of LA skyscrapers and a chill atmosphere to just sip a drink and relax for a bit. The times I've been there the music has been different--from just a DJ spinning tunes to a live band playing reggae covers on a Friday happy hour. It's... More

Love this place. It has cool retro Euro décor and it is always open, which comes in handy if you work late. There is always an eclectic crowd, from local business people and celebrities to Euro tourists. The food is nothing fancy, but consistently good. I have known some of the servers there for over seven years, so very low... More

While searching for a restaurant near the Standard Downtown Hotel where I stayed for one night, I came across good reviews about its restaurant and decided to dine there before my tour of LA at night. I had a tasty salad with duck, and a steak tartare, both starters, and did not have room for any dessert. It serves a... More

Here is the thing about the Standard, if you are young at heart, you will love it. It has a great bar scene. The drinks are super and the food excellent. If you are not young at heart and want silence and a comfy seat, go to the Biltmore Bar. The Standard bar and restaurant sits atop the hotel. It... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown Los Angeles is a busy metropolis of towering buildings, bustling streets, and industrial warehouses. There is a distinct multiplicity of cultures here with a growing influx of business professionals and hipsters. Many call the evolution of Downtown over recent years gentrification. New lofts, bars, hotels and restaurants are popping up regularly. Downtown is home to some of the very best restaurants in the city leading the LA foodie scene, plus it is the location of cultural and sports venues including the Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Staples Center, and the Coliseum at the University of Southern California.
