Stopped in during a slow period to grab lunch. The steak sandwich and the club sandwich were delicious. The French fries are some of the best! Prices pretty good. The staff is very nice. The atmosphere is really cool. Kinda dark and chill. Has a lot of history and it's apparent. They had awesome music playing too. Wish we had... More

Made reservations for 13 people based on trip adviser. Food was ok, but service left a lot to be desired. Need adult supervision for our young waitress never smiled once, seemed like she didn't want to serve us. Never once did a manager come to ask if everything was good. I'd never go back.

I read about this place when looking into the history of Hollywood. What inspired us to go to this place was the history it had with celebrities visiting this restaurant in the glory days, like Shirley Temple, Cary Grant, and Judy Garland. It was also close to the tourist sites on Hollywood boulevard which made it convenient as well. It... More

we stopped in here on a tuesday evening after checkiing our hollywood some because we didn't want to keep walking around anymore and the menu looked pretty good. the place was pretty empty for it being 6 pm, with just a few people at the bar and two tables being used. we are seated at a small two top between... I just love this place. The food is good and the prices are about what you would expect. I love the feel of old Hollywood here where I could imagine some of Hollywood's bests chatting around a table or having a drink. As you tour the area, stop in for lunch or a drink.

We came here for lunch when exploring Hollywood. It is a great building with good service, friendly staff and a good value menu. My wife had the cottage pie and I had the chicken pot pie. I also had a side of fries as the pie did not come with any type of potato. The portions are large and the... More

Doesn't look like much and not sure what it is meant to be, English Bar, Irish Bar etc but it's neither really. That said service was good, good food and nice beer. We went twice in our five day stay and couldn't fault one of the meals. Would recommend the mixed vegetables as part of any dish......very tasty.

We stopped here for dinner and a few drinks. I had angel hair with shrimp, and the guys had various hot sandwiches. Very good! Choice of draft beer was above average, and very cold. Ceiling and "confessional" are very neat. A lot of history to the building. Glad we stopped in.

You are on Hollywood Boulevard and tired of the tour touts and the crowds: so you head a few steps east and find the iconic Pig 'n' Whistle. Wrought iron, dark wood and leather; friendly and helpful wait staff; cider on tap; perfect for lunch. Serving sizes are generous; we ate tacos and fish and chips and a panini and... More

Staying in Hollywood

Neighbourhood Profile
Hollywood
Hollywood undoubtedly conjures up images of movie stars and high-end lifestyles, and to this day, tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, Chinese Theatre and to catch a glimpse of the famed Hollywood sign up close. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park while many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying - the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and table-side bottle service. But parties aren’t the only way to enjoy this area, many visitors come to the neighborhood to sit back with a picnic to watch a performance at the Hollywood Bowl and those looking to stay fit trek along nature trails in the Hollywood hills and in Griffith Park.
