After a meeting in downtown LA, it's a short hop to the Eastside Market hidden in the Victor Heights area of LA. The Italian eatery is just great and the sandwiches are so so good. The line can be long, but well worth the wait. You may have to park in the residential streets but worth the trouble.

I saw this place on Triple D so when in L.A.; I had to drop in. I enjoyed the Italian sausage, meatball, peppers and cheese sandwich while my husband chose roast beef, pastrami and cheese. Both of these sandwiches were equally yummy. It is a big sandwich so you could actually share one. This joint is the real thing and... More

On my way to a Dodger game I decided to stop in and get something to eat. This place is one of the hidden gems of Los Angeles. They have some of the best deli sandwiches in L.A.. If you want a big and juicy sandwich, this is the place . I had the combo of roast beef and pastrami... More

Don't often eat burgers but when I do this is usually the place. Good food and friendly staff. Can't go wrong with an In and Out burger and fries.

You know the food is great & prices low when you see friendly cops, detectives, fireman, & city employees lining up daily for the big sized sandwiches & pasta dishes. Everything, including the soups, are made fresh daily. I usually call in my order, especially because the soup sells out quickly. You must try this venerable institution. Parking is easy.... More

We stopped by here on way to Dodger Game at Dodger Stadium (about 1 mile away). I had the sausage and meatball sub and my son had the pastrami with marinara sauce. They were delicious. On Tuesday and Thursday's they have lasagna and pasta available. We'll need to go back and try. They have about a dozen tables inside with... More

Let's get one thing straight: The Eastside Market is not the place to go for a quart of milk, a dozen eggs or a loaf of bread. Maybe back in 1929 when the market opened one could find grocery market things here, but not no more. Serious sandwich eating goes on here. The menu is so full of ultra-rich food,... More

This is an old time Italian deli with indoor tables to eat at. I stop here when I am in Los Angeles because I love their sandwiches. They also have hot plates of food. I think every police officer and firefighter in the city eats lunch here, so do not worry about feeling secure. It can get crowded, but they... More

Saw the place on DDD. I had the hot pastrami and roast beef sub. It was awesome. It was huge. My wife had the hot meatball and sausage sub. She loved it. We were both stuffed when we left. The subs are messy so be aware. A must go to place if your in LA.

Outstanding place to stop for a quick lunch. The family operation makes the best sandwiches. You will always see a large number of city and county workers dining at the place. A former neighborhood market, the place has been turned into a restaurant. Nothing fancy as far as the building, but great food.
