Sitting at a table overlooking the ocean sipping a Kir Royale is heaven! Whether it's lunch, brunch, dessert, cocktails in the afternoon or dinner, number 1 all the way! Meals prepared and presented impeccably, excellent service --prices very reasonable! Treat yourself!

I came here with friends for just drinks, so I can't comment on the food. However we sat in the bar, which overlooked the waves crashing. The restaurant carried a very nice passionfruit hard cider, which I would go back for. It was a beautiful view and a nice place to have drinks. I would return just for the view

During our trip to LA on 2007 we visited this amazing place two times by recommendation of friend. First was outside at sunset at it was incredible experience that always remember(after 10 years). Second was on dinner inside with amazing table with views. Something that both times was excellent was the service with a lot of kindness with us. We... More

On the recommendation of a friend, we stopped by Moonshadows for cocktails and appetizers late one afternoon. Perfection! We got one of this seats outside directly facing the ocean. So serene. I had a Bloody Mary and we shared a tuna tartar. Lovely!

nice beachside restaurant...simple menu, good food, good service... rated average as several areas need improvement: receptionist was rude, better presentation of menu, and food...simple example, bread basket with frozen bricks of packaged butter... could be better...

When a dish is supposed to be Risotto, I expect it to be made with Arborio rice, and be creamy. My Risotto-lie dish was bland, and was NOT made with Arborio rice. Dessert was excellent, as was the coffee...and the view can not be beaten!

Very fresh and well prepared seafood. I had grilled octupus served on a bed of white beans and very thinly sliced Russian potatoes with and olive oil and lemon...perfect. As an entree, the black cod was fresh and beautifully prepared. Nice menu selections. Very nice service, lovely views of sunset over the Pacific.

This restaurant wins for the view and ambiance, they've done it right with outside cabanas, or inside tables. The food is seafood done right, it can be a little on the pricey side but hey it really good quality food, done right. Have to mention the bar as they do really good cocktails and have a good selection of sparkly's,... More

The view is just amazing! We saw dolphins whilst lunching over burgers and fish with salad and of course a glass of champagne. It can get quiet hot with the sun beaming down so wear something light. Food is a good price pay average $20-$30 depending on the meal type of course. Friendly staff. Good for singles, couples, groups or... More

Staying in Malibu

Neighbourhood Profile
Malibu
The Malibu coastline is like a chameleon. In some areas it resembles the French Riviera with its lush, green hillsides descending into crescent-shaped shorelines. In others, it feels 100% Southern Californian with beaches wide and flat as a football field, and often crowded with beach-goers lounging on towels and playing volleyball. Other coastlines still feel secluded, tucked under tall cliffs and dotted with stunning rock formations. In certain areas, where the ocean waves are just right, surfers can be seen bobbing in the water. Up in the mountains to the east hikers take in truly stunning views of the ocean and the sprawling Los Angeles landscape. And along Pacific Coast Highway, restaurants are filled with visitors and locals from all walks of life. Stumble into the right place at the right time, and you’ll likely encounter a celebrity.
