Great views. Food subpar ordered salad with halibut. Salad did not contain all menu items and had at most 2 oz halibut. Dressing was mayo in a cup. $28. Fish and chips, skimpy, bad fries and really bad cole slaw. Service sucked too. Wanted dessert...but was delivered check when I went to bathroom. Left very unsatisfied. And hungry.More

We usually really love this place. The service is absolutely fantastic!!! But this visit was a little disappointing. We got the Miso Black Cod. It was pretty tasteless. It was more like a plate of melted butter with some food on it, not anything special...for $32. So I don't recommend that. We also got the fried oysters and that was its redemption: just delicious. But as I said, the service is incredible. And the view is divine.More

Nothing like the fresh Tomales Bay, oysters, and a bloody mary as an afternoon snack...and Tony's does it right! Perfect stop leaving Santa Rosa and heading back to SF... If you're seated outside, it's likely to be chilly, so bring a sweatshirt...or buy one like...I did!More

Picked the end of December for a drive down from Sacramento to Los Angeles along the west coast, on the beautiful, incomparable US Coastal Highway 1. This was along anticipated, 36-year dream plan to experience that coastline up close… Of course, the weather and our...airline (Southwest) both conspired to screw things up royally !! It rained every day of our 10-day vacation except the last, and when we were to fly from Seattle to Sacramento, the airline industry had a meltdown, leaving us stranded at SeaTac at 5:30 in the morning. Well, we couldn’t give up, and rented a car and drove 17 hours through pelting rain to get to CA and assume our planned itinerary. Wouldn’t advise anyone to try this !! Marhall ! Another pit-stop, while rushing pell-mell down the rainy coast to make it to dinner in SF ~ yes, seriously, another meal on the way to yet another meal. Tony’s is located literally on the edge.. the edge of Shoreline Highway and the pacific. They have obviously been here forever, and have been too busy to upgrade the digs. But it works, and they have a 40 year story.. folks from far and wide know and come in droves. They’re part of a group of fine eateries owned by the Hog Island Oyster Co., but don’t read too much into that as there isn’t the slightest hint of a mass catering chain, but that is probably the source of the freshest catch. We were panicking on the way down from Gualala because we thought we’d be late for our reservation, but they didn’t give a hoot. Walk in and be seated…. Soon. And if you’re outside on the roadside deck south of the building, or at the windows, the view must be spectacular when it isn’t raining. But they were pretty busy, even with the inclement winter weather. We were lucky to have a window seat inside, but without much of a view beyond the incessant, grey breakers. BUT – no need ! the food was the eye-candy for the day. Incredible, fresh-caught… see food - eat food. We ordered a Bloody Mary and a glass of local Chardonnay, and started with a bisque for me. (Driving fast in the rain must make you very hungry.) The bisque was creamy and smooth, just the way I like it. Heavy on the stomach, though, and I was a bit concerned about having too much food in me for the rest of the afternoon’s drive to SF. For mains, we had Steamed Mussels ($26) and Local Rock Crab Claws ($32)… both just wonderful and huge helpings ~ though there are a lot of shells so the actual food boils down to quite a bit less. However, the shells were easy to pop and the meat inside just fresh and perfect. I could have downed another helping, and would love to go back for more ( ~ when it isn’t raining.) The time it takes to work your way through all those shells is what fills you up. However, the meats in both orders tasted sooooo great that there could be no argument about not finishing… and we couldn’t take doggy-bags on a road trip anyway. (….don’t think the SF Hilton would appreciate leftover seafood and shells in their executive level suite.) Overall… one of the best crab dishes I have ever had… and well worth the stop.More

I cannot recommend this place enough. It gets super busy but we had reservations and were able to sit outside at a picnic table. We ordered multiple rounds of oysters, they were so delicious! We also had fish tacos and the po'boy. All was really...good. Would definitely go back! We got to watch the fisherman come in and out and it just felt unreal that the oysters were coming in fresh as we ate them!More

Everything you would hope for on a grey, windy day on the Coast. We had comforting chowder, two kinds of oysters, mussels, bread and drinks. It was all perfectly prepared and beyond delicious. It was so good that even with only 3 days in California,...we went back a second time and were able to sit outside, elevating the experience further. Even the playlist was perfect!More

We were staying in Santa Rosa and wanted seafood. The drive to Marshall was beautiful. We both ordered salads and agreed the Caesar salad (served with anchovies) was the best. I had cioppino, which was excellent. My husband ordered the raw oysters. We are from...the east coast, and he said he prefers the east coast oysters. We sat indoors at a window table, and the view was great. Service was efficient.More

Stopped her for lunch after our Hog Island Oyster Company tour located 1-2 miles up the road. Food and service was excellent. We sampled some oysters including the very yummy bourbon oysters. I would recommend the mussels, fish and chips and the crab. Good beer,...wine and drink selection. The had heaters in covered outdoor section but we had brought blankets so we sat next to the water and enjoyed the view.More

We had lunch here on a bright sunny afternoon on the patio by the water. Indoor dining is available but the outdoor areas offer sun or shade and nice views of the water. My husband and I order the clam chowder. It was probably the...best we ever had. There were so many fresh Mania clams in the shell that we lost count. The broth was light, well seasoned with pieces of potato. We also shared an order of steamed mussels prepared in a slightly spicy and tasty broth. Lunch went well with a bottle of Hog Island Oyster wine. The food, service and location are outstanding.More

Tony’s never disappoints. The bbq oysters were cooked perfectly, with very tasty bbq sauce and very delicious. The oysters are always fresh from Hog Island Oysters, which is up the road. They have also one of the best fish and chips - the moist perfectly...cooked cod is surrounded by delicious crisp batter and also cooked to perfection. Coupled with a nice draught Lager beer and you are in for a treat! Our waiter was attentive, courteous and always checked that we were satisfied.More
