The service is impeccable, everyone of the waitstaff from our waitress, to busboy to floorwalker is at the top of their game. On the advice of our very helpful waitress we chose to have five small plates. Two of shrimp on sweet potato (3 shrimp per plate), one scallop plate (2 large scallops only) braised mussels which were tiny and... More

This restaurant is located about 3 miles from Half Moon Bay and has a reputation as one of the best S American restaurants in the area. Unfortunately, since we were ordering as a group, not much of the menu was to my taste and the quantities - as usual - were grotesquely huge compared to the number of people. Perhaps... More

I went to La Costanera two nights running. On both occasions the weather was against us so I didn't get to sample the views over the ocean. The first visit was a large corporate event and I was really impressed by how they looked after and fed 150 people. The canapes were excellent and the subsequent meal was first rate,... More

I have been here twice now, both times with groups of four, so have tasted a wide range of the offerings. Everything has been wonderful. This evening I had the swordfish with roasted vegetables and it was excellent. Ask for a table as close to the window as possible and try to arrive before sunset. The views of the waves... More

A welcome restaurant in an area that has a dearth of good reasonably priced offerings. We ate poke with delicious raw fish and had a lovely evening with attentive service. Sadly the weather wasn't good but there is a terrace to sit out on in good weather and watch the sun go down over the Pacific

We loved our night out at La Costanera. We've lived coast side for awhile now but had yet to have dinner here - wow, what a treat! First the building and location are amazing second the food is unique and outstanding. We will definitely be going here again. I definitely recommend going early and/or making a reservation.

The only disappointing aspect about La Costanera is that it is not open for lunch. I rate my experience at restaurants based on four criteria: atmosphere( including noise level), view, food and service. Everytime I go to San Francisco, I look forward to dining at La Costanera because it rates five stars in each of my criteria. This restaurant is... More

This place came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Interesting decor, great service, amazing food. We sat off in a little alcove area on the side, otherwise it could be quite noisy, but its a happening place. Small plates designed to be shared and we did. Each time a new one hit the table, it was devoured. Everything was so... More

Great food wish the Hostel hired the GM of this restaurant to run the Hostel and they would treat people with color with respect and dignity. Great service and great food

Our dinner reservation for 8 adults was handled with the utmost attention to service and guest comfort. The menu is diverse and the food is absolutely fantastic (*Note: Peruvian food tends to be a little spicy/hot). This is not an inexpensive restaurant, but if you are a foodie and/or like a great Peruvian meal in a romantic setting, it's definitely... More
