We had a very nice meal at Bistro Moulin even though neither Didier Dutertre nor Colleen Manni were there (67 Wave Street, Monterey, CA 93940, tel. 831-333-1200, E-mail: bistromoulin@gmail.com, web: http://www.bistromoulin.com/). Our server was friendly, professional and good. All the other servers helped too. The...More

My wife and I enjoyed a first class French style meal here last week. I had excellent coq au vin, which I have rarely found in any restaurant. Perfectly done, excellent sauce and flavor. My wife was equally delighted with her duck breast, just slightly...More

You get personal service from the owners. This is a great place for dinner after a visit to the Monterey bay Aquarium as it is an easy walk up the hill. We enjoy taking friends to this restaurant and they always leave wanting to vist...More

This is a modest looking restaurant, and not expensive, but quite authentic. The chef is French and his wife is a California girl. We both had the nightly fish special and loved the balance of flavors on the plate. The wine list is very well...More

Given the reviews, I was expecting more. We had dinner here and were happy in general. The Jamón Serrano was pretty good. My dish, which was the special seafood crepe, was also good. I’m not sure how authentic the crepes are though; they were quite...More

Oh my gosh, we just got back from dinner and I wish I had another stomach so I could go back and eat more. I had to choose between the special (pork medallions) and spinach gnocchi. I LOVE gnocchi so much I'll eat it anywhere,...More

My boyfriend and I ate at Bistro Moulin on a vacation to Monterey. It was some of the best French food we've ever had (including while we were in France!). Everything we had was delicious. I will say that I'm surprised that so many reviews...More

We have gone to this restaurant often enough that the servers know our names, what we will likely order, know that we are generous tippers, know where we go on vacation and when, and yet the owner, Colleen, who is always there, HAS NEVER ONCE...More

My husband and I are visiting the Monterey area. We wanted to dine at a local, non-touristy place. We definitely found that at Bistro Moulin! It felt like we were in a small cafe in Paris. Absolutely lovely! Shortly after sitting down, a small plate...More

I contacted the restaurant directly to inquire about a children's menu. Chef Didier was very kind to respond. He told me that children are welcome and they host families every day. They offer kid pasta and spinach gnocchi... More

Yes, it serves tiramisu and small tartlets. I don't remember anything else. Try calling the restaurant. You definitely need advance reservations, as the restaurant is quite small. We have enjoyed this small gem twice.
