We had dinner here on our second night in Monterey after hearing others in our hotel talking about how great it was. Well they were right. We loved this place. Incredible location on top of the water. Fantastic menu options, great food quality and presentation and a very professional wait staff. We will definitely be back.

We learned the hard way that there are coupons for free appetizers in shops and brochures- keep an eye out. The food is pricey but it was good.

Had a lovely lunch here on a rainy day. We were so excited about the view! Our table by the window was right in the water. We saw 2 seals during lunch. The blackened mahi mahi was amazing and the coconut shrimp ahi salad was too. Quite a nice wine list. The service was the perfect amount of taking care... More

Awesome local place for dinner right on the water. Make sure to make reservations and request a table overlooking the water. The service was fantastic. Perfect for special occasions. Not an inexpensive place but fantastic selection. Make sure to save room for dessert.

The Fish Hopper is THE place to eat on Cannery Row! The food selection, service and view are excellent. The best time to go is during lunch as it can get pretty busy during dinner hours. My husband and I were able to get seated right away with a nice view of the beach and waves splashing against the rocks.... More

The wait was about 15-20 mins. Our table had a great & beautiful view of the water. Service was very friendly & always on top of things. The food was just ok. The prices were a little high for the quality of the food. The alcohol drinks didn't taste very strong at. Over all we would eat here again.

Few fresh items, not necessaroily local, are in the $40 per serving price. Dungeness crab which is running locally now is only used on one dish. Other dishes serving dungeness crab used canned crab. (you could make this at home.) Big tourist trap.

Stopped here for a quick drink and snack at lunch time. We were here midweek without the tourist crowd. Bartender served us drinks at HH prices. We also ordered stuffed mushrooms with crab meat and garlic fries. Both were very good and reasonably priced for a touristy area

The views of the Monterey Bay were outstanding from both the dining room and the patio. The menu was unexciting, the service was extremely slow and inattentive. We went on a January weekday after the lunch hour and there were only a few other customers. We were seated promptly and politely, but then waited almost 10 minutes for the bus... More

We chose this restaurant to be on the water and as our "lunch break" from the aquarium. Lot's of wait staff and very attentive and our food arrived quickly. Their chowder is great and the addition of crab makes it a meal for two!
