The Bagdad cafe was everything I expected. The serves was great and friendly. The food was great for the price. The Bagdad Cafe is a great novelty stop on Route 66. Being a person who has traveled Route 66 front to back, The Bagdad Cafe is a true relic of its time. Given its location, it is truly a must... More

We saw the movie when it first came out and loved it, so we just had to stop by when we drove through the Mojave desert. It was also a major bonus that you could drive part of Route 66 to reach it. Very colorful, very basic, but a true gem! Enjoy the basic food, but marvel in this building... More

Many years ago I watched the movie "Baghdad Cafe" and I was fascinated. The sweet magical movie has moved me greatly. On our way from Las Vegas to California, we stopped at the Cafe where the movie was shot. Following the movie, the restaurant has become famous and changed its original name to "Baghdad Cafe". Baghdad Cafe is one of... More

We went with friends to check out this icon on Route 66 near Barstow, CA. Friends heard the pie was good--they had no pie. Asked about the ice cream on the menu, but there was no ice cream either. You can get a cup of coffee or an omelette. Had an 'A' health grading but did not look clean. In... More

We popped in to The Bagdad Cafe more because it's history than for a gourmet dining experience. We weren't disappointed. It's a tourist attraction rather than a cafe so give it a go. Lovely owners who would rather chat than cook & that is just what we expected.

Old School Nostalgia and memorabilia from hats to bats, posters to t-shirts, money bills and graffiti.... The place is good for a photo stop and a quick beer. Lunch is absolutely basic but staff was very friendly and super fast.

Stumbled on this little cafe while on a motorcycle trip of historical route 66. So we hade to stop. Yes the service was plain and the hamburger plain as well. Service was just OK, but that is not what this stop was about. The cafe has attracted people from around the world due to a low budget movie made with... More

The historic Bagdad Café offers very decent food. We had a Philly Steak and an omelet - both delicious and freshly made by the couple owning the place. They were both extremely friendly and helpful. "Calling You" was playing in the speakers, and we suddenly felt like we were in the movie "Bagdad Café". It was an experience I would... More

We were hungry. We should have waited. Filthy dirty, run down and the food was horrible. Subway would have been better. Seriously, the owner was friendly and nice but can't she see what a dump she is running? And what about hygine?

First off, I feel a deep seeded need to answer the critics of the Bagdad Café. The most common complaint I’ve seen is that its old and run down. No kidding, Thanks for playing along, your traveling down Route 66 in the middle of the Mojave Desert. What are you expecting, the Ritz Carleton? The whole point of exploring Route... More
