My partner and I visited on a weekday evening. The restaurant itself is cosy, a table in the window overlooking the street is a good choice. The service is quick and friendly. Complementary bread is on offer whilst you wait for your meals. There is lasagne of the day (which makes you ask - how many variations of lasagne is... More

We were tired of walking and hungry when we stopped in to Ciao. We ordered lobster ravioli and vegetarian pasta dish. Both were delicious. The staff was friendly. My only complaint was about the customer sitting behind me who kept taking work calls. She bragged that she was on vacation, but had not stopped working. We LOVE not working and... More

Before we had ever step foot into Ciao Italian Restaurant I was in the mood for eating steak. But everybody else in my party was in the mood for Italian food. Once in the restaurant it felt like home. We were there at Sunday lunch time. I was delighted to find that there was a steak calzone on the menu.... More

Delicious fresh seafood and friendly wait staff. However, white bean soup may have been from a can. Quaint little setting on the main strip

Great food in a perfect location with a nice casual atmosphere. This was our first trip to Balboa and when we go back we will go back to Ciao.

Abundant portions, fair pricing and great service, what else do you need? Had a great time with a party of eight.

Maybe I was expecting too much when I entered Ciao's. Based on the location, the interior and menu I was expecting more than I should. From the beginning the service was slow and really did not improve during the evening. Several times staff would bring plates to our table that was some else order. I had the Cioppino and my... My husband and I enjoyed our meal at Ciao Italian. From the menus posted along the street, it seemed more reasonably priced than most restaurants in area. They had an extensive lunch menu and very courteous service. Our garlic bread appetizer was sub-par - it tasked like grocery store garlic bread with the thick garlic/butter rub not like homemade garlic... More

We have been here 3x, every spring break. A great spot to get real simple Italian food cooked perfectly. Al dente pasta. Great service. Owner is friendly. Open windows so you can watch the crowd stroll by and feel the nice breeze! We will be back next week!
