Well, tonight we researched a restaurant in a guide called "TOP 100 Restaurants 2016" a publication of a San Francisco newspaper. Since we are in Oakland, CA we chose this restaurant. The food looked good in the ad. We arrived at 5:15 and the restaurant...More

Very good pizza. Excellent waitress. Good wine selection. A little pricey, but worth it. Location a tad dicey but not as bad as some areas of Oakland.

This place is considered one of Oakland's best restaurants and it is extremely popular, lines out the door. The food is very good..we had pasta and salads. Very high quality. But beware, they get away with high prices and the portions are modest. Very noisy...More

Average place (I do not understand why it is so crowded) with very expensive prices for no obvious reason. We tried the amatriciana which was ridiculously small and more spicy than it should. On the other hand the pizzas were ok in size but totally...More

The pizzas and other appetizers and entrees are all good here--it's hard to miss. Also an interesting wine list, and lovely desserts. Service while friendly can be a bit scattered, and the cost adds up, especially if you want to share a few starters.

We visited Pizzaiolo on a Tuesday night and found it the spot to be on a weeknight. Katie was our server and she was awesome. She was knowledgeable about the menu and the restaurant's policies. But more importantly, she ensured that the food was delivered...More

Pizzaiolo makes delicious breakfast breads and pastries to go with their carefully brewed coffees. They also serve frittatas and other egg dishes that always please. Because of the care the staff puts into preparation, service can be slow. Yet, I do appreciate the earnest attention...More

Pizza is excellent. Salads are expertly prepared. Staff attitude (especially front) is unbelievably rude. Actually the only nice person was the one pouring water for us. Drinks are creative and average price ($12 for a negroni) Would have given the restaurant a much better rating...More
