Went for the first time this weekend for lunch. We ordered the enchilada, 3 sopas and the burrito. The best was the enchilada. The 3 sopas was small and only had one sopa. The veggie burrito I ordered with the beans and rice on the side. The burrito was all veggie. Unfortunately, the tortilla was so oversized I had to... More

Take this review with a grain of salt, as I am neither vegan nor vegetarian. The outdoor patio is what made the experience so great for me. The patio is massive and tastefully designed. The market inside is pretty cool, just expensive. I actually enjoyed all of the food I ate, but just felt unsatisfied (once again, I have no... More

An easy way to put together a tasty and healthy dinner or lunch when you want something casual. Also sells some groceries.

Part market, part restaurant, definitely local in ambience & audience, recommended for lunch. I had the veggies tacos which were quite good; my wife had the pea soup, which she loved!

This is one of the most amazing Mexican food restaurants I have ever visited. Plenty of choices for vegans. Be sure to try the warm chai, best I've had outside of India. Literally bought and took home more than a pound of dry chai tea mix.

This place popped up as being one of the best in the area, so we stopped in for lunch. We walked in and were confused by the fact that it's a rustic market as well as a casual order-at-the-register restaurant. And then we were confused by the creative food listings--we had no idea it was a vegan restaurant—yeah, we didn't... More

Let me make it clear that I am not a vegan so this type of restaurant would not typically appeal to me. However, I consistently return to this unique restaurant as the food is good and the ambiance is so funky. The smoothies are also great.

Very delicious "real food" that tastes great! So much food is grown in this area; nice to have a place to eat it right from the farm. Unique smoothie flavors. Delicious

The only thing I treally didn't like about this otherwise great place is that I am a truly BONE LAZY breakfast-er, and I want to sit my lazy self down and have things brought to me. At The Farmer and The Cook you enter through the small grocery, stand in line a bit, and then order at the counter, get... More

This is a restaurant where you walk up to the counter to order. You can sit inside or outside - plenty of seating in different areas. The food was delicious and very fresh. Casual and fun. We met some neat people there. Lots of groups, families with kids, friends and couples.

Thank ErinJE

A cafe-market-bakery-salad bar serving Mexican food using organic chiles, tomatoes and tomatillos grown at the farm. The tortillas are handmade and the sangria is topped with local Ojai citrus. Quite a few vegan, raw and gluten-free offerings; everything else is vegetarian. Lovely outdoor patio with a striped green awning and a view of the mountains.
