It's fun to walk in this re-purposed old house or sit on the porch and get lunch. It's like a cross between an Italian deli and a cafe. The food will always be good --- because Joe Rombi knows how to make good Italian food.

We ate a late lunch there last weekend and the food was very good. We had the meat ball sandwich, which came with a very nice garden salad. Being after lunch and before dinner time there was limited staff so the service was somewhat slow. But everyone was friendly and we will go back next time we are in town.

While we were on our vacation to Carmel, we went to Pacific Grove to shop and sight see. We decided to have a pizza for dinner but not knowing the place very well we asked a few locals on the sidewalk where to go and they said Joe Rombis on 17th St. so that's where we went. We were glad... More

A couple of blocks off touristy Cannery Row, tucked in an old Victorian house. Best Italian I've had in a long time. I just had cheese pizza. Melty were it needed to be, crusty in the back. My husband had Bolognese. He's really fussy and he was very pleased. And to top it of they serve this amazing bread with... More

Perfect for a quick family meal, not expensive. You order everything at the bar which is fine. A lot of locals seem to eat here, and are known and welcomed by the staff. If you're looking for a large meal you may still be hungry if you're a big eater, but for us the portion size was perfect. It's good... More

I eat here or get take out often as my office is just a couple of doors up the street. It is great to grab any type of coffee with a lovely selection of sweets: muffins, cookies. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, a personal pizza or lasagna is a great choice. Eat inside or out, the atmosphere reminds me... More

As locals, we frequently dine at La Piccola Casa. My husband and I enjoy sitting at a table on the outside terrace of this historic Victorian cottage, along with our little dog, and are always made to feel at home. The food is consistently excellent, wholesome and well priced. Oscar has been at the helm for years, and is always... More

Stroll along 17th St., between Lighthouse and Laurel and you will find one of the Peninsula’s favorite spots, La Mia Cucina. This little jewel, with its fresh ambiance and tantalizing menu, is popular with everyone. The colorful European advertising posters that enliven the walls, are “originals, not reproductions.” That phrase is accurate in describing La Mia Cucina itself. From the comfortable linen white decor, accented beautifully by those turn-of-the-century posters, to the hand-crafted entrees and desserts, everything about La Mia Cucina says fresh and original. Owner Michael’s specialty, his ravioli dishes, are a renowned local favorite, and for good reason. They are hand made, with all the care that only a lifetime of creative food combining can bring. In addition to pasta, La Mia Cucina is known for it's fresh fish and meat specials. The desserts are made in-house by his wife Paula and daughter Michaela, and the service is personal and inviting.
