I find the food consistent, the atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing. And my family liked it that says a lot

Ask for a window seat. There were two of us, we were able to watch the people below. This is a second story place. Pizza is good, workers could be more enthusiastic. Just don't be in a rush and enjoy!

We arrived with a family of 8. No small task, however the server did her best. She seemed to be, "in the weeds" most of the night and commented that the bartender had favorite serving staff (which certainly seemed so to me having worked in a restaurant in the past). The water glasses and tiny, and with ice probably hold... More

Slow service and mediocre food. Menu is fairly uninteresting. The balcony is great though. Maybe have drinks here and crowd watch, then have dinner somewhere else.

We went on a busy Thursday night during the holiday season and the restaurant was packed. Service was pleasant, but we waited more than an hour for our food pizzas. Appetizers and salad portions were small and we found the food underwhelming for the price.

Requested a balcony. A touch of romance to set the mood right. (You get privacy and a great view) Started with the Giant Meatball which was amazing. The bread which I thought was perfection. Then came our entrees of pizza and a burger. Didn't disappoint ,bloody Mary burger, which was more than I can put my mouth around. Pizza was... More

A decent happy hour for fair prices on wine, beer and their happy hour menu. Margarita pizza is pretty good.

We called a few hours before to see if we could get a reservation for a party of 12. They couldn't accommodate us all at one table, but were able to have two adjacent tables. Worked out just fine. We all ordered different pizza's and salads and shared, so didn't ask about separate checks. Prices, service, and food were good,... More

My daughter and I weren't quite hungry enough for a full meal...but we wanted to enjoy our first night in Palm Springs. We decided to enjoy the basics...and Matchbox delivered. The Ginormous Meatball made from angus beef, veal + pork, pepperoni sauce, with wood-fired bread and pecorino romano was fabulous! More than enough for two people. The sauce had a... More

Description
what makes a great pizza? It starts with a great oven! Ours is an authentic wood- fired masonry oven where the fire has burned constantly since the day we opened. Modern gas and electric ovens cannot produce the intense heat needed – over 800 degrees – to achieve the crispy, smoky crust that our oven provides. With dough made fresh daily in-house, our goal is to make the best pizza in Palm Springs!the space. The challenge? How do you build distinctive restaurants in unique urban spaces? Our original location in the Chinatown neighborhood of Washington, DC was a Chinese grocery in a structure 15 feet wide and three stories tall. Our newest location in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington was a 90 year old vending machine warehouse. matchbox Palm Springs was opened in 2005 in a second floor location with spectacular views of Mt St. Jacinto and Palm Canyon Drive. Our partnership group, with backgrounds in restaurant operations and construction simply have a great time designing and building all of our projects!
