Service was excellent. Reservations are a must. Steaks and seafood are excellent. One of the best steakhouses in Palo Alto. Definitely worth it.

We went on a rainy Wednesday evening and our only option was a table in the bar. So if you go here, I strongly recommend calling ahead for reservations. The bar staff was not very attentive. However, everyone in our party was very happy with their food, and our party included a vegetarian and a gluten-free follower. While the place... More

Tens and tens of time at this place. This time we arrive a 7pm with a reservation for eating a Prime Rib. We got our table at 7:50 and when we ordered the Prime ribs we were told that they were sorry but it was sold out !! We had two very good beef filets and a wedge salad with... More

Home for the holidays, a half-dozen of we ol' guys (okay, not THAT old) got together for a mini-high school reunion. Sundance has requisite ambience and patina for a beef addicts appreciate: man cave "lite" with vintage sports memorabilia and framed black & white photos of sports and cultural heroes from more genteel days of yore when we didn't know... Went for lunch to Sundance. Ordered the Arugula salad with chicken. The salad was delicious. My coworker ordered a steak sandwich which she greatly enjoyed. The bread was nice and warm and served with both oil and butter. The service was good and the ambiance was nice. The only thing that I would have liked is some more light. The... More

One of the best places to go to when you're in the Bay Area (peninsula). This is one place we will visit while in town, not all the time, but at least 1-2x a year. Their steaks are amazing, cooked to your liking and I've never had a bad experience here. This time, I choose to load up on appetizers... More

One of our favorite special occasion restaurants - we have been for birthdays, anniversaries, New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day and the service is always great, even on the busiest of restaurant days. The bread is awesome, comes out warm, and they provide both butter and olive oil and vinegar. The only improvement would be a little flaked sea salt on... More

I love going to Sundance and always have a nice steak. We went for lunch and did a change up to a Salmon Caesar Salad. I must admit, it was very moist and flavorful…. But, steak next time!

Came to Sundance with about 10 friends. Food was good, but not outstanding. Prime rib (house speciality) was a little tough but prepared perfectly. My girlfriend's salmon was tasty but a little on the dry side. Service was outstanding. Parking can be a challenge. Price was a little steep but not outrageous for this class of restaurant.

Having shrugged off my colleague's embarrassing attempt to blag a table based on a non-existent booking ... things improved quantum levels. Thankfully I was in charge of wine detail ...so we enjoyed a couple of tip-top local cab savs 😎. Probably (in a non-Carlsberg way) the best steak I have ever eaten. What more can I say ... if I... Description
Since its opening in 1974, prime steaks and martinis have never gone out of style at this Palo Alto institution. The atmosphere is very clubby with fireplaces, dark wood, sports memorabilia and plush leather booths tucked into the many nooks throughout the dining room. Famous for their slow-roasted prime rib & hand-cut U.S.D.A Prime Steaks, they also offer fresh seafood, cold water lobster tail & succulent shellfish. The 23 oz. Bone-In Rib eye Steak is the "Boss' Favorite" while the Double Cut Filet Mignon runs a close second. Sundance is respected for serving the best food money can buy coupled with value & simplicity – a welcome relief for serious food & steak aficionados. The menu is supported by an award-winning wine list that features over 400 selections focusing on highly allocated Napa Valley Cabernets & Sonoma Pinot Noirs. Exceptional ratings & numerous restaurant awards rank Sundance the Steakhouse as a true dining destination.
