This might be a good substitute for a "classic steakhouse" in the steakhouse dessert that is the Bay Area, but make no mistake. This is no classic steakhouse. Exhibit A: my expensive rib eye was overcooked. Ordered medium rare, arrived medium well to well. No...More

This place really knows how to treat its customers. Greeted by lovely young women and shown to the table. The waiters are very helpful and attentive throughout the meal without being obtrusive. The food is excellent and the atmosphere conducive to having a pleasant visit....More

I've eaten at Sundance several times - always because of a group or event scheduled there. Even though I dine out frequently, this is not a restaurant I ever choose. I find the food to be very basic and somewhat bland. Not inedible, just really...More

We did not book a table. We just walk-in late and had totally enjoyed our prime rib dinner. The steak was juicy and of high quality. It was cooked to what we had requested. Baked Idaho potato was good too.

We've gone to Sundance for prime rib for over a decade. The decor (polished dark thick wood, gentleman's club) has not changed during that time, nor has the quality of the prime rib, their house specialty. So far so good. Unfortunately, the truly boring side...More

The steakhouse impressed me. Very atmospheric, great design and entourage. It was quite crowded when we arrived. It was a special day for us so we got the best US wine and it was truly great! Highly recommend - Opus One 2012. To eat we...More

Excellent steak house - great food, service, ambience. Fireplace by bar in winter. Cozy & elegant. TV screens. Noise level can vary. Vegetarians won't find a lot of options here but they won't starve.

Many steak houses sell everything ala carte which drives up the bill. The meals here include lovely sides.

I walked into the restaurant without a reservation and was seated at the bar. Staff were polite and efficient. The barman was able to discuss food options. I ordered a slow roasted prime rib. The meal arrived and tasted like something that was in a...More

Since its opening in 1974, prime steaks and martinis have never gone out of style at this Palo Alto institution. The atmosphere is very clubby with fireplaces, dark wood, sports memorabilia and plush leather booths tucked into the many nooks throughout the dining room. Famous for their slow-roasted prime rib & hand-cut U.S.D.A Prime Steaks, they also offer fresh seafood, cold water lobster tail & succulent shellfish. The 23 oz. Bone-In Rib eye Steak is the "Boss' Favorite" while the Double Cut Filet Mignon runs a close second. Sundance is respected for serving the best food money can buy coupled with value & simplicity – a welcome relief for serious food & steak aficionados. The menu is supported by an award-winning wine list that features over 400 selections focusing on highly allocated Napa Valley Cabernets & Sonoma Pinot Noirs. Exceptional ratings & numerous restaurant awards rank Sundance the Steakhouse as a true dining destination.
