Went here for dinner. Place is decorated in dark woods all over. Tables have tablecloths. Waiter was attentive. Entries were large, could not eat it all. Food was served hot. Place is on the expensive side though, steaks start at $32. Menu covers steaks, fish...More

We did not have a reservation so we ate in the bar. I had shrimp & scallops and my husband had a steak. We both had a baked potato. They bring you bread when you sit down. Staff was very nice. Would.def. recommend.

You can count on Sundance for a fine meal. The Early Bird special gives good value for the money, particularly the prime rib.

This wonderful establishment has an old world feel but has innovative modern dishes as well as the classics. It has dark wood, a fireplace, and attentive waitstaff. My favorite appetizer is the filet mignon spring rolls. Sounds weird, tastes great! I love the ribeye steak...More

I returned to this old-time restaurant after many years. I found the food to be OK, but overpriced. It's your conventional burgers, steaks, and seafood. The service was very slow. I'm not sure if it was the kitchen or the waitress. She seemed to be...More

The meat, given a NY steak barometer is s four. Even the signature prime rib is no longer top cut & isn't cooked to its best either way. They say slow roasted for 8 hours, on what, 325? Tough & not juicy, poor quality grizzle,...More

Came with 3 friends for early happy hour and dinner. We arrived at 4:30 and the bar was starting to fill. 3 of us had De Loch Chardonnay ($5) and one had a margarita ($6). We then went to our table for the early dinner....More

From the first bite of warm, sour-dough bread to the last sip of cappuccino, Sundance is a feast. Everything, salad, gorgeous prawn cocktail, vegetables, filet mignon, sides, seafood sautée, and cocktails were beautifully prepared and delicious. Service was friendly, non-intrusive, and excellent. Beautiful decor. It...More

Description
Since its opening in 1974, prime steaks and martinis have never gone out of style at this Palo Alto institution. The atmosphere is very clubby with fireplaces, dark wood, sports memorabilia and plush leather booths tucked into the many nooks throughout the dining room. Famous for their slow-roasted prime rib & hand-cut U.S.D.A Prime Steaks, they also offer fresh seafood, cold water lobster tail & succulent shellfish. The 23 oz. Bone-In Rib eye Steak is the "Boss' Favorite" while the Double Cut Filet Mignon runs a close second. Sundance is respected for serving the best food money can buy coupled with value & simplicity – a welcome relief for serious food & steak aficionados. The menu is supported by an award-winning wine list that features over 400 selections focusing on highly allocated Napa Valley Cabernets & Sonoma Pinot Noirs. Exceptional ratings & numerous restaurant awards rank Sundance the Steakhouse as a true dining destination.
