If you are looking for Indian food in downtown Palo Alto, should definitely visit this place. Snacks and meals are the ones to try. Deserts and Biryani's can be avoided if you are used to Indian Biryani, but others menus are good.

The indian desserts they serve are horrible. The rasgoola is rubbery, the lentil halwa seem like 50% butter. You'll get an instant coronary heart disease for a very low quality desert. The food however is very good. I'd particularly recommend the Thalis

Warm and generous service, great flexibility in ordering, delicious sauces (touch of mint in the smooth raita)--and terrific for vegetarians.

Loved the vegetarian options and the spicy goodness of the dishes. I had the hella vegan bowl and my friend had the hungry planet burrito. Very tasty and loved the riced cauliflower option. A bit pricey but worth it

I really like this place. There chicken tikka burritos are bomb. Would highly recommend for lunch. A little on the pricier side for lunch but for what you are getting it is a great value. The staff that work there are super nice and accommodating....More

Three of us had different Thalis - each one was awesome. Great food at a very reasonable price. A great new option for the Palo Alto dining scene. I can't wait to go back!

I really enjoyed the playful nature of the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant was top-notch. The curries wrapped up in a tortilla was a fun take and a good way to introduce people to Indian food, thinking kids.

We had dinner last night and were underwhelmed by the lady at the counter. She was really bad with an attitude I haven't seen at a counter restaurant. The average bill per person without any drinks came to $14 for us which isn't cheap. They...More

Owned by local duo, Akash and Rana Kapoor, Curry Up Now was inspired by street food popular in India and other parts of the world. Akash and Rana started Curry Up Now as the Bay Area's very first Indian Street Food truck and have now expanded to five food trucks, four brick & mortar restaurants and two craft cocktail bars named Mortar & Pestle. Items on the menu include the iconic Chicken Tikka Masala Burrito, Deconstructed Samosa, Naughty Naan and Sexy Fries, plus there's an extensive list of gluten free and vegan options. Feeling like a night cap? Head to Mortar & Pestle Bar with friends for handcrafted cocktails, using housemade syrups, or try one of the locally crafted brews on tap.
