Came for drinks with friends from work. We played a game in which we each had four unmarked glasses of wine and tried to identify the type of wine. It was harder than we thought, and it allowed us to try some wonderful California wines (a zinfandel and a Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, a pinot noir from the Sonoma... More

Recommended by friends who live in area. Was a good recommendation. Classy ambience, attentive waiters and tempting menu items. My wife said the ravioli dinner was the best she ever had, My spaghetti (which is something I often order) was good (but nothing special), That said I would rate their tiramisu 'excellent'

My husband and I have been going to an incredibly lovely Italian restaurant, called Pro Bono, in Palo Alto, CA. almost every month for over a year. It is truly one of the most welcoming places we have been to, and we eat out a lot. We always feel like we are coming home. We have gotten to know the... More

I have been going to Pro Bono for many years and just returned last night after it was remodeled. The food, ambiance, service and enthusiasm are really outstanding at this place. You are always greeted as an old friend and the menu always has new dishes to sample. I am lucky to live close to this restaurant and will return... More

The Pro Bono restaurant in Palo Alto has great food, a warm and welcoming staff that gives fantastic service, and now a even nicer ambiance. They have doubled the size of the restaurant, adding a bar area that should be visited even if you don't plan on ordering a meal. The bar itself is beautiful, marble with light shining through.... Anyone going to Palo Alto likely already knows that it is wildly overpriced for anything and quality is compromised because they can get away with both high prices and high profiteering by cutting quality, quantity, and service. We had a pre-organized 'limited menu' dinner for 25 business and science attendees that was somewhat disappointing in all categories except for the... More

We were visiting Stanford for a baseball camp and look forward to having a good dinner each day, Pro Bono was a great end to a busy day. Started with burrata cheese and tomato salad, wild boar sausage with white beans and a beef carpaccio, all were excellent. Main coarse of rabbit with fettuccine was fork tender and had great... Just arrived from East Coast and visiting friends who recommended this as the perfect spot for a time zone-adjustment meal...and it was. Friendly greetings all around and attentive and focused service. The wines selections are abundant and good value, but you can BYO for a $15 corkage fee. Appetizers were tasty and nicely presented, with evening's special mushroom tartlette especially... More

I was in town for a conference and a friend and I stumbled across this place. Great wine selection and the food was amazing! Would definitely go back when in the area.
