I wish I could give this place ten stars! It was AMAZING - by far the best restaurant we have eaten at in Pasadena, and that town had some great food. The service is impeccable, the food is fantastic - the flavors, preparedness, options -...YUM!! The bartender also has some amazing mixology going on. I would highly recommend eating here!More

I just came here with my father and husband for my birthday. I was visiting from New York for the week of my birthday, on the second anniversary of my mother’s passing. We were a party of three. When we arrived we were promptly shown...to possibly the worst table in the restaurant- directly by the kitchen door in the corner. I should preface that I came here in the summer with my dad as well and we were also seated in the far back of the restaurant next to the wall almost literally behind the fireplace of the main room. So this wasn’t exactly surprising. I’m not sure if it’s because we are Asian (we saw another Asian couple seated tonight at the same table behind the fireplace 😬). Anyhow we asked if we could be seated at a different table a bit more central to which the response was - since you are a party of just three people this is the only table at the restaurant for you. Which was completely perplexing as it was the same size table as every other table for four. There were no triangle tables for three. And there were at least four to five open tables of the same exact size. But no- we were repeatedly explained to that because we were a table of three this was really the only table we could be seated at. After escalating to the manager named Jose- he finally acquiesced and begrudgingly gave us a table meant for “four” in a better location. Again the table for “four” was the same as the only “table” in the restaurant for three. Of course there were couples sitting as four tops that we passed along to our “specially” arranged table. It was totally ridiculous and especially hurtful. I explained to another manager Roberto how upsetting it was to continuously be ostracized and told that because we were a table of three we had to sit by the kitchen. The last thing I needed to be reminded of was that we were not a threesome and not a foursome. It’s like shaming solo diners. Maybe there’s a sad reason we were a threesome and not a foursome? I explained this to basically a blank face from Roberto. No apologies from Roberto, Jose or the two rude hostesses up front. Not a peep the entire night. Ridiculous. Sometimes you go to places where the staff is a bit rude and you accept it because the food is that good. This is not one of those places. Not sure if there’s just not enough competition in Pasadena but there has to be better options. I’m sure glad I don’t live here if this is the best place in town. Scallops were super oily- lobster mashed potatoes nearly inedible. The only decent thing here is the drinks but there I should hope are better options. It was all in all an awful experience mostly due to the incredibly poor behavior from the staff, but also compounded by less than mediocre food.More

Top notch, hands down amazing! I hadn’t been to The Parkway Grill for some time, but I returned last night with my friend to celebrate her birthday. The ambience and service from the moment we stepped in the door is first class. The restaurant got...busy while we were there, but it did not finish our experience, The menu has something to phrase every taste and it was hard to decide but since we favor the fish we’ve eaten there before, choose the special halibut. The server, Effie, accommodated some of my adjustments (avoiding carbs) so that my plate was really special. I really need to come back here more often and not edit for a special milestone.More

Classic USA grill. Crab cakes and steak with some wonderful wine and great, great sauteed potatoes. Eric was my waiter and was very helpful (I was on my tod and didn't know my way around the menu/wine list in the USA).

The ambiance is much of an traditional upscale steakhouse type vibe. Parking is not the easiest so we valet. Enjoyed their braised rib, scallop, and 1/2 chicken. Try the napoleon creme brûlée. The pastry gives it the crunchiness in place of caramel. We really enjoyed...it.More

Ambience: 10 Service: 10 Food: 9 Bar: 10 I give the food 9 only because my lamb chops lollipops were on the skimpy side and a bit tough. Sea bass was good but I’m afraid I’ve had better. On the bright side, the lava cake...was to die for! Served with fresh berries and homemade ice cream. Heaven! All in all, yes, I’d return!More

We went to the Parkway Grill for a friend's birthday celebration. When we arrived her special seat was adorned with a handwritten card. The food was delicious. The special was the Chilean seabass and it was cooked to perfection. Served on a bed of cream...spinach. We then ordered a side of lobster Yukon potatoes. And that, too, was very well received by our entire group. Friends dined on the beet salad, lobster risotto, and bouillabaisse. A lovely evening that ended with a birthday torte. Excellent!More

Another great outing at Parkway Grill. Just a first class experience all around. Our server (Millicent) was professional from start to finish. The food (sea bass, halibut, chicken and lamp chops) was excellent- each dish prepared to our liking. If we didn’t live in Scottsdale...we would be here often but when in town it is our “go to” for a great meal but be prepared to pay. With tip $550 for 4 of us and no bottle of wine.More

After nearly two years of COVID-related restrictions, my wife and I decided to start venturing out, and last night’s celebration dinner at one of our favorite places - the Parkway Grill - didn’t disappoint. The Smith Brothers, owners of the Parkway Grill (along with Smitty’s...and the Arroyo Chop House) have pivoted seamlessly by providing carry out and comfortable outdoor dining spaces at all three of their iconic Pasadena locations. We were celebrating the publishing of my wife’s second book, and wanted to do so at a special location with a tasty meal. We got both at the Parkway Grill in addition to excellent service from Carlos our waiter. We made reservations through Open Table, and decided on outdoor seating. Everything worked well, and we were seated in a very comfortable well-appointed tented space next to the restaurant. The cocktail and wine list continues to be extensive (the Smith Bros seem to have ‘cracked the code’ on supply chain challenges!) the appetizer list was just long enough without being overwhelming. We shared the tiger shrimp corn dogs, and a half bottle of champagne to start our celebration. Then moved onto dinner - my wife enjoying the sea bass and I had the scallops, both of which were prepared to perfection and absolutely delicious. We were treated to a surprise desert from Carlos as a way to acknowledge our celebration. All in all a wonderful dining experience. We’ve come to expect nothing else from a Smith Bros establishment.More

So sad that the service and quality of food has deteriorated so much! Yet prices have double! Just don’t even have the words to say how terrible our meal was. Will not be returning.

First, don't charge me for bread. Makes me think you are cheap. Second, the food is great. All of it. Their crab cakes are not as good as Water Grill, but they are super. Their New York steak is perfect and cooked the way you...want it. Every salad is very good. You can dine inside or out. I prefer inside. The place is very pretty. Make a reservation, it gets very crowded. Third, their deserts are so good. Anything with chocolate you will love. They also have a great wine list. It is expensive but not outrageous. Finally, don't charge me for bread.More
