Driving along Highway 1 between Santa Cruz and San Francisco, we decided to stop for lunch in Pescadero. There were only two choices - a sandwich takeout or Duarte’s. There were 8 police motorcycles parked on the street. I told my friends, wherever they were...More

Historic tavern with a diverse menu. We stayed away from the traditional tavern menu options. Started with fresh, briny oysters with a homemade cocktail sauce that was light and paired well. We also ordered the seafood chowder - it was just average and the reason...More

The history of Pescadero and Duarte’s is all over the entryway and is interesting. We had good fish sandwiches. Pie looked good , but we were too full to try it!
