The Kountry Kafe is great for Breakfast or Lunch. Great food and service. Always ask for their homemade salsa.

My friends breakfast potatoes tasted sour. The bacon had been precooked hours ago. The eggs yolks were still cold and the bread smelled and tasted like yeast. Just plain crappy ingredients. So sad. Breakfast is so easy. Also hash browns reeked of coconut oil or something that you could not taste any potato. Big thumbs down.

Kountry Kafe or as my Mother thought the name was Kountry Kate is an average in every way breakfast joint. There are always a bunch of Olde Tymey regulars hanging around and enjoying the average food in a place with average service and slightly below average atmosphere. Then again the prices are a bit above average for what you get.... More

I took a mystery drive while I was straying in San Diego for business. I left the hotel with no plan, other than to find breakfast on a Sunday morning. I ended up in Poway, CA and found the Kountry Kafe. It’s kind of a small place, run by some very friendly folks. I noticed that a lot of the... More

I was waiting for my car from Poway Honda and had dropped it off early in the morning 7 a.m. so I figured I would get breakfast at this spot. I am giving this place a 4 because although breakfast was great and service was fabulous, it would take a lot to screw up breakfast and there wasn't any "extra"... More

I ordered an omelet as a scramble. It came as an omelet. I reminded the waitress that I ordered it as a scramble. She apologized and took my plate back to the kitchen. She returned with it two minutes later. The cook just took a knife and chopped it up. REALLY??? The waitress offered to remake it, but I was... More

The building started out as an A & W Root Beer stand, and expanded, remodeled, and morphed into a comfy Mayberry kinda place. There are still six stools at a counter from the 20's. The breakfasts are great. You can't go wrong with either the kountry potatoes or the hash browns. The coffee is just okay, but the service is... More

My husband and I always split the Huevos Mexicana, using egg whites, wheat toast and beans. We start off with "half caf", half regular and half decaf coffee, then switch to decaf. It is our time to detox from the week and just relax. You will never go without a refill because someone is always coming around checking on you... More

I have been going to the Kountry Kafe in Poway for years and I can say that it is my favorite place to have breakfast in Poway. It is old and a bit dated, but that only adds to its charm. Booths and tables and a back porch, you will find a lot of locals frequently this place. With daily... More

Reminded me of a badly managed Denny's. Enough said. Well maybe not enough said. Food: I could do better. Coffee: yuck. Service: nice people. Prices: Denny's
