Friends of ours took us to The Press (as in a wine press logo) in midtown. The food was very well prepared and the ingredients were first-rate. Service was good and attentive. Our friends brought a bottle of wine for sharing - w/ a corkage fee applied. We ordered a tapa trip and a calamari dish as appetizers. We ordered... More

We ate dinner here to celebrate a special occasion and were mostly satisfied with the food and very pleased with the wine selection and attentive service, but it was so noisy it was hard to talk across the table. As good as the food was, the serving sizes were relatively small, especially the pasta dish. The noise level alone will... More

Great California food: fresh, local, and well-prepared -- with emphasis on the ingredients (without sauces or toppings) ! Excellent produce/vegetables, fish, bread, and deserts. Fair prices, too. Plus the space is sufficiently quiet for conversation. Good choice in Sacramento !

We've eaten here four times now and each time we walk away glowing from the delicious food, wonderful service, and terrific cocktails. Have to say that James (a truly professional waiter and extremely amicable person) helps to make the experience the best we've had out----- first class all the way!!! Some people have said in reviews that the portions can... More

On the spur of the moment my husband, our friend and I wandered into the Press on Saturday the 9th of April. The place was busy but we were told the bar was open seating and found 3 seats there. We ordered goat cheese stuffed piquillo peppers, patatas bravas, the ravioli and fettuccine. The tapas were great, the ravioli was... More

Had a nice meal - tapas, pasta main, and desert. Plus a nice house chardonnay. Food was enjoyable but portions were small. Nice ambiance, but it wasn't crowded. I suspect it is noisier on a busy night with the large open space.

we had decent food and service for the first few visits but stopped going because their reservation system is non-responsive. I had to send e-mail several times and they are not even apologetic. too many other options that are more eager to serve.

I went here for a nice night out with my wife and it did not disappoint. The interior was spacious, modern and well decorated. It was busy but not packed and the sound level was appropriate (too many newer restaurants are too loud for conversation). The service was very good and you definitely get the feeling of an upscale restaurant.... More

With a suggestion from a friend we ate at at the Press on Valentine's Day eve with close friends. Our reservations were handled seamlessly. As is name suggests, press has a bistro feel in a nicely remodeled building downtown. We ordered a nice selection of starters and we're not disappointed in any of our selections. We all ordered something different... More

Layout looks like it serves as a bar as well as restaurant. Had a delicious pork chop. Cocktails were okay, but not amazing. I'd go back.
