I first started eating at Tony ' s restaurant in North Sac about 1966 or 67. My favorite has always been the pepper steak sandwich. I now live out of state and would kill for one! I used to stop in for one when visiting but can no longer travel. Wish he'd open one here in Louisiana!

Tony Baloney's is a Sacramento landmark that has lasted 52 years. They also make and sell their salad/sandwich dressings. I had the Meatball sandwich and my Son had their Pepper Steak sandwich. Both were excellent on a tasty, crisp italian roll. Even though we ate around 2 PM (well after the lunch crowd left and before the dinner crowd), there... More

My mother Stella use to take us to Tony Baloneys when he had the restaurant in North Sacramento, My mom worked as a waitress close by and that is where she would take me and my sister to eat with her tip money. I remember Tony was so nice to my mom and us girls there were 4 of us.... More

I was beyond thrilled to see you come back! My family has enjoyed your hospitality and GREAT food for more than 35 years. The food is as good as ever and the family who owns and runs it are great hosts. Steak sandwich is my favorite on days I don't order the pastrami -- or maybe the meatball. IT'S ALL... More

I love this place! Tony had retired a few years ago and I was so disappointed. But...he's back!!! Hours are limited so call first ,but you won't be sorry if you go. The best food in town and the nicest people. It has it's own atmosphere, nothing fancy, just a homey feeling but he's got all the fancy places beat... More

34 years ago, I was on a date with what is now my ex-husband. He took me to Tony Baloney's for a pepper steak sandwich. I was guaranteed the best sandwich in town. I no longer live in Sacramento (unfortunately), but when I visit my daughter and grandchildren, I always go to Tony's. Not all memories are so bad in... More

On many occasions, I've attempted to make a meatball as good as Tony's. Many years ago, I lived near this restaurant and have tasted most of the food on the menu. Sorry Subway, Tony's meatball sub is second to none. Keep it up Tony! And perhaps someday you may decide to share your recipe. S. Thompson Washington state
