Fantastic service, well priced unique wines and amazing food on a tree shades enclosed tranquil patio. Historic firehouse building... don't miss this gem! Cheesy polenta, schkug, and pastrami with housemate chips were highlights as well as the NoLum white wine (french). A lovely way to leisurely lunch!

Our son asked us to take him and his wife there for his birthday celebration. When you first drive by the building you wonder what all the building has been used for before it became Mulvaney's Building and Loan. I saw an old fashioned firehouse but the "former garage door openings" sure are narrow. But then again, the fire apparatus... More

I had a wonderful family dinner at Mulvaney's last night. We were seated on the charming and beautiful patio area. Our server Carol was an absolute delight. She was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Our meals-salmon, sturgeon and duck breast--were scrumptious. The three desserts were heavenly. The prices were reasonable for the quality of the food, the professional staff and wonderful... More

Enjoyed a lovely lunch on the shaded patio. My husband loved the trout with fava beans & I enjoyed the spicy pork sandwich. Be sure to have Sara Jane recommend her cocktail creations- the SJ Rickey with Junipero gin, mint, lime is beyond fabulous!

Cute little restaurant that has an outdoor dining Patio. Great staff and the owner was present. Small Cocktail Bar that seats 4-6, very nice bartender. The Menu was small but it covered pretty much everything and we were told it changes daily. Their signature Meal is a Double cut Pork Chop. There were 4 of us in our party. 1... More

This was my first visit to this restaurant - it's located in a charming historic building and stepping inside was like entering a private world. The main restaurant is small, with some kitchy/westerny/old fashioned decor. As our party had reserved the private dining room (comfortably sitting six people) I was pleasantly surprised to be guided through two small kitchen prep... More

Ok I have dined at Mulvaney's for many years; as i have lived in the Sacramento area for 20+ years. Mulvaney's is the best and most inventive restaurant in the entire Sacramento region! My wife and i have dined at 3 star mic. restaurants , all over the world, and Mulvaney's is on par with Paris and London restaurants. The... More

Suggest making reservations. If a smaller party be sure to ask about the small dinning rooms. We ate in the wine room. Interesting room. Great staff and very good food. Pork chop is what you want but make sure you are hungry. Ask about house hot sauce if you like spicy foods. Can be a little hard to find but... More

You know, you just can't go wrong here. It's a small but quaint spot in a downtown hotspot. It's a little expensive but really worth a nice night out. The steaks are perfection, the fish dishes are always creative and delicious. There's also always a duck or lamb or quail thing that is always worth a try.
