John's is now called John's of Willow Glen. It has been here for many years and has always offered good food at a good price. John and his family are of Greek descent, and Greek food is the highlight of the menu, although everything is good and well prepared, Have Chicken Riganati when it is available. The nightly specials are... More
A colleague of my spouse had called us to join him for a late brunch on a Sunday afternoon. Our friend ordered a salad with the lemon/chicken soup, my spouse ordered the crab cake benedict, and I ordered a spinach omelette with melted swiss/cheddar cheese along with country potatoes. The verdict: the salad was okay, soup was better, the crab... More
Since being in Willow Glen area on business, have visited John's several times and have not been disappointed. Clearly this is where many locals hang out, but the food is good and servers tend to treat you like family (in a good way!). Try setting outside at one of the sidewalk tables, great place to people watch.
The Eggs Benedict is delicious! The best thing about this dish is that a variety of Benedict's are offered -- like crab cake Benedict, smoked salmon Benedict, Canadian bacon Benedict, etc. Try them all. You will NOT have better Hollandaise Sauce anywhere! It has a hint of lemon and is wonderful. You will lick your plate clean. Actually all the... More
I'm local and this is my fav of the many restaurants on Lincoln. Family owned and operated, great breakfasts, best hollandaise you'll ever have, big brunch crowds on weekends, excellent lunched and dinners, and fantastic Greek lemon chicken rice soup.
A happy opportunity to return to John's presented itself this week when I met two friends there for lunch. My last visit had been several months ago. The menu seemed different than before; it appeared to be more extensive, listing both traditional American food and Greek food. I wondered if John's has hired more Greek chefs or whether patrons have... More
Good food. Coffee is nothing special. About as expensive as other restaurants in the area. Good service. The restaurant is rather loud. At yes it is hard to hear people at your table. Outdoor seating is good in the spring and summer. Parking is available. Walking distance to more shopping.
We made a special trip to San Jose from our home in Brentwood, CA (70 miles) to have dinner with a very close friend at John's. Just to have the pot roast and Greek lemon soup. Wow, it is so good. The service is outstanding. The owner actually spent time chatting with us as to how they cook the pot... More
Greek, Italian and American food are on John's menu. Portions are large - I usually ask for a box to take home - and prices re reasonable. Everything I've ordered has been excellent. The restaurant has a personality: lots of locals, an old time staff, and an informality make it very appealing. There's a bar and plenty of parking at... More
