This is an average sushi joint, situated in a shopping center. The service is spotty (sometimes good, sometimes not), the interior could use a facelift, but the sushi is more-than-passable. In a pinch for Japanese, worth a try.

Pretentious waitress, expensive sushi and badly made hand rolls, left me going to jack in the box right after....

sunday, on the "other side of town", lunch on the fly... sigh. most of the lunch menu sushi rolls have fake-O crab. the two that did not made the decision of what to order. (i can't recall the names but it matters none. probably won't go back. other better choices around.) while one was quite delicious, the other was just... More

We've been to this restaurant each time we've come to SLO. Good proportions, extremely friendly wait staff. Ask for the "happy hour" menu. BOGO sushi rolls.

I have been going to Sushiya for almost 5 years now and I have not left disappointed once. The food is delicious and the drinks are decently price! 90% of the time I sit right at the sushi bar with my wife and I have to say the service provided by Jose their sushi chef is unmatched! As long as... More

We have been going to Sushiya for the past 20 years whenever we are in SLO. It isn't the best Sushi I've ever had but it's worth 4 stars. We normally go for brunch so no crowds and the service is very attentive. This time we started with Edamame and a couple of large hot Sakes. Then we finished with... More

Well, should of known from the reviews that this place was just going to be mediocre. Came here for lunch and had the combo roll lunch. It was ok, not the greatest I have ever had and not the worst. Service was just ok, especially when he served the miso and some went flying out of the bowl.

I love sushi. This restaurant is close enough to home that I can walk. Yet, I have sworn it off, after multiple experiences of feeling like the food was mediocre and the prices excessive. For truly fantastic sushi, try Goshi in downtown SLO.

Dishes for every taste. Please those who enjoy the authentic Japanese food and even those who do not eat sashimi for example. Have a dessert of ice cream moti, which is exquisite! For those going in a group, have enough space.

Thank tereca
