My wife had been here years ago and they used to have a buffet - they have stopped the buffet and gone to a more 'fixed-menu', but in the process, made it a much more pleasant place to eat. We had afternoon tea, with some champagne - the server was friendly and helpful and the whole occasion was pleasant. Highly... More

Make reservations ahead of time especially in May. Garden is blooming in spring. Great service. Lovely tea. Right out of the oven scones. Recommend it for tea. Make a day out of it and enjoy the gardens and art museum. Nice outing for a couple or Mom and Daughter or Granddaughter.

If you don't mind spending a small fortune to eat weeds on crustless bread in the presence of the inconsiderate jokers' that bring their whiney rats with them, then this attraction/restaurant might be for you. 30 years ago I first went to this exclusive garden haven located by the Hunting library with my mother and grandmother. It was filled by... More

We have been twice now and just love the table service. After walking through the gardens on a hot day the refreshment and air conditioning are welcome but the service is top notch.

By removing the buffet, they can host a more elegant tea. They start with scones and tea, then bring out a 3 tier stand - savories (deconstructed sandwiches) and sweets. Note - the crumpet is so/so - ask for more scones instead. The tiramisu was very nice. The salmon on rye bread was delicious. The staff is very attentive, making... More

For the last seven years I have taken students to the tea room. They used to have a buffet of salads, fresh fruit, cheese, caviar, crackers, sandwiches, delicious desserts and cookies. I brought a new group of students today. I had told them what to expect. However, the replacement meal was a sugary, meager, one size fits all, lousy collection... More

We came to the tea room last year and the year before for my birthday. Truly enjoyed the wonderful buffet with salads and sandwiches and yummy desserts. Were we surprised today when we arrived to find the buffet was gone and now you get a skimpy fixed menu. This was not what we expected for such an expensive lunch. Won't... More

Spent a relaxing 1 1/2 hours enjoying the afternoon tea at the Huntington Japanese Tea Garden. Excellent, doting service, a fantastic selection of finger sandwiches, scones, and crumpets with clotted cream and all the other necessities to enjoy a satisfying snack or lunch. The teas were delicious to wash it all down. Very special and highly recommend.

I enjoyed "High Tea" with 2 girlfriends on March 4. The entire experience from beginning to end was delightful. Our server, Gianna, was organized, charming, personable and helpful. She got us started with tea choices and then returned to take our order. The high tea begins with scones and choices of jam and lemon curd. The tea comes on a... More
