Wanted to try ramen again and decided to try yet another one of the many ramen restaurants in San Mateo. I have to say, I loved this place equally as much as the first place I went. The ramen here came with an egg , which was nice. The meat was very tasty too. The noodles are a bit different... More

I came here for lunch and ordered the #1 or most popular ramen or the meat lover's soup, which came right away. Wished I had ordered a hardboiled egg to go into my ramen. The broth was adequately flavorful but I thought it enhanced more by the sesame oil condiment at the table and as advertised on the menu loaded... More

We always go this Japanese authentic ramen, the soups are fine good tasting flavor. All kind of soups the best one is the steak ramen, if your kids don't like soup they have original chicken nuggets and french fries . For those tourist here in San Francisco CA if you like ramen soup I think this is the restaurant you... More

When we drove into San Mateo along East 3rd, we start to realize we may be able to find all 380 restaurants listed in San Mateo within two or 3 blocks. Nearly every shop is a restaurant providing wide choices and price options. Carparking was difficult to find this Sunday night as several public car parks were closed. We decided... More

The place was busy and the staff was attentive. However, as soon as our noodles were served , the first thing we noticed was the hard boiled half of an egg nestled on top of the noodles. We thought this was a bad omen.......isn't the egg yolk supposed to be a little undercooked? Although the noodles were chewy and the... More

Went in with a friend as sushi Sam was full. The service was great and fast. I ordered veggie soup and my friend ordered spicy ramen. Pretty average.

My friend and I stumbled into this place while walking around downtown San Mateo, searching for a dinner place. Japanese ramen - it looked interesting from the outside, and the restaurant had lots of people in it. So, that's a good sign, right? Indeed it was! The ramen was very tasty -- I had the #1 pork ramen with a... More

Found this little place while spending the day downtown waiting for a flight out of SFO. If you are a fan of Ramen - a traditional Japanese noodle soup "comfort food", then you will LOVE Ajisen. I highly recommend the Premium Pork Noodle Ramen, $9.95. The miso broth is excellent, and it comes with a copious amount of noodles (fresh... More

The service was great our waitress was friendly and knew the menu well. She was able to provide recommendations based off finding out what our individual tastes were and I must say she did a great job. We loved our dinner and from the time we walked in to the time we finished our meal it was about 30 minutes.... More
