As a local I have always been amazed at the constant waiting lines outside Sol Food. The food is always the same menu with a few specials, and it is reliable , reasonably priced , and fresh...but not over the top outstanding. What I realized is that the interior design of this place , the color, the funky old doors leaning... Love it!!! Always get the chicken combo or steak sandwich. Love the sweet plantain. And we even buy the salad dressing by the bottle.

Only eaten inside a few times as I won't wait through the never ending lines. Call ahead, pick it up, and take it to the park or home. Still delicious, cause it's more about the food. The back deck is nice, but again, if it's about the food and not the atmosphere order in, or take it out.

Mostly spicy stuff that I don't like. Also lots of noisy immigrants, maybe illegal. Not my choice.Rather spend my money in another place.

Sol Food is pure magic, there is nothing like it in Marin or anywhere i've been, The food is perfection and the vibe is special.

A bit pricey for the 3 small ribs, and stingy with the rice, but overall great food. Would come back.

This place is home away from home. Nice comfort Caribbean food that just melts in your mouth. Shared tables with others who are enjoying their food. My favorite dish is the Bistec Ensebollado, thinny cut steak with gilled onions with rice and salad with option of black or red beans. Either choice is delicious. Flan or tembleque for dessert to... This place came highly recommended, but our party all found the food unexciting and a little greasy. The long lines tell me that lot's of people like this type of food, but for us it wasn't worth the long stand in line. The communal seating with strangely wide tables force everyone to shout, making it noisy.

Was in SF when a business colleague recommended Sol Food. We drove out to San Rafael to give it a try. What a great place. You order at the register. The cashier was very helpful. You then sit at a shared table and they bring you your meal. The food was very tasty. It's similar to Cuban food. Well prepared... More

This place was delicious. 3 of us friends ate here a few days back. We all ordered different dishes and everything was exceptional. Fresh, authentic and the staff was amazing.
