Sol Food is for sure a spot that everyone needs to try. Prepare yourself to wait in line just to get inside. It's that good! Everything from their rotisserie chicken to their steak sandwiches. Don't forget to buy a bottle of their hot sauce to take home with you.

I had never eaten Puerto Rican food before but my nephew told me we had to go to Sol Food. I was not disappointed. I ordered the Paraiso sandwich which included fried plantains for a bit of a sweet taste. It was delicious. It doesn't come with a side but the sandwich was huge so I was able to take... More

It was my first time to try Puertorican cuisine. You pay first and then sit. The food reminded me of Cuban food because of plantains, black beans and great tasting chicken. I will definitely return to dine there. Waiters were very friendly.

This is one of my have spots. I live in NY and my friend brought me here bc well, she knows I loe food and great food in particular. I was not disappointed. I had the chicken with sides and sweet plantains. Everything was fresh and delicious. I had the mango iced tea and after lunch the coconut latte, both... More

Food is inconsistently well prepared and erratically priced. But chicken and rice are tasty. Fried plantains are yummy. Spare ribs are overpriced and spare! Take-out is best, or delivery. The regular restaurant eating, while hot food, is crowded and noisy. It seems to be a young trendy group of fans who enjoy standing in line and socializing and eating ethnic... More

Just by chance we found Sol Food, we thought we would try it. We were so pleasantly surprised. As you enter you pick up your menu and order at the counter. When the order is ready they bring it to the table for you. It's a very small restaurant and we thought we would have to eat outside at the... More

For the folks traveling to the bay area and visiting Sol Food, be prepared to stand in lines during regular dining hours, lunch or dinner. The lines are worse on the weekend. That said, I do enjoy the food and there was a time when we regularly did take out. What we love: *The chicken is tender and seasoned just... More

This place has been a real hit ever since it opened (in its original, tiny location a few blocks away). Simple menu, with well prepared, tasty ingredients, a lots of energy. Seating is community-style (large, shared tables, which can be a bit of a crunch when it is at peak time).

Not exactly certain what I missed out that the majority have no qualms standing in line to get in. But such is the scenario during lunch (and dinner hours). The prices are not freebies and the décor and eating set-up kind of rustic. Have eaten here twice and left with the same impression: What is so great about this place... More

The long lines going half way down the block is a sign that this restaurant is well worth the wait. The classic choice is Pollo al Horno, oven baked garlic chicken thigh that comes with rice & beans, sweet or fried plantain. Another favorite are the pork ribs. All entrees come with organic greens & a lemon vinagrette that is... More
