What a great vibe. Loved it here. Fairly priced food. Great ambience, true old-school san diego. I had both the shrimp and the fish. My kids had chicken and beef. All of these were really good.

East Beach offers a variety of tacos. We ordered the Triple Play, so we could try different varieties. The tacos were good, but not great. We had a beef, a chicken, and a shrimp taco. Seating is available outside and they share a small parking...lot with a batting cage park. The staff is helpful and friendly.More

You'll think you're in the wrong place, but you're not. Amazing taco spot in a batting cage complex. Such an unusual set up and one we loved! Worked our way through the menu and were impressed with everything!

Interesting spot. Walk up taco stand in batting cage complex. The service is friendly at this busy little place. They do offer outdoor seating where you can eat and watch the batters. The tacos are good and well stuffed with ingredients. We ordered the triple...play a choice of 3 tacos. Carne asada 4.5/5, Gangnam Style 4/5, and carnitas 4/5. Others had shrimp tacos 4/5 and fish and chips 4/5.More

We went to East Beach Tacos because of the rave reviews and #1 status for Mexican Food. It didn’t disappoint. We went for the triple play, a choice of three tacos from their expansive list of options and our favorite was the ahi tuna taco...followed closely by the crispy spicy shrimp. We even tried one of the “local’s favorites”, the beach ball which was a ball of rice with spicy tuna inside. Everything was delicious and a steal of a deal. Don’t, however, go for the ambiance unless you find picnic tables and batting cages romantic, though watching the batters swinging was entertaining in its own way.More

We stopped in for a quick lunch and we delighted by the variety of taco offerings, freshly made to order from a long list of possibilities. We enjoyed the Gangnam taco, a raw ake tuna taco, a carne asada taco, a grilled shrimp taco. The...taco chips came with a very hot dipping sauce. The 10 for 3 special is excellent good value: lunch for two was about $23. We ate outside on picnic tables.More

A novel experience, but the tacos are overrated. The steak taco was excellent; I would give it a 5. The Bahn Mi taco was a nice idea but the pulled pork was scarce and lacked flavor; a 4 out of 5. The fish taco was...oily cod and also lacked flavor, like it was cooked hours ago; a 2 out of 5. Suggest they switch to tilapia (unless they can afford halibut). Being next to the batting cages-all ages and skill levels- was unique. Parking in the lot can be difficult. Go south over the train tracks and turn right for more parking.More

Eclectic menu featuring tacos and other California favorites next to the batting cages. Husband had the fried fish and chips, served with coleslaw. For vegetarians substitute tofu in any taco item- the warmed soft shelled “tofu asada” was full of grilled flavor and topped with...cheese, cabbage, and hot sauce. Dining is family style at picnic tables. Delicious food in a fun and quirky setting. Parking is limited -be prepared to be assertive! Easy access from Highway 101.More

This place sits next to a baseball cage on the main road. It has no inside space, a series of outside benches and looks pretty rough. It also sells the best Tacos I had in an 8-day road trip through California. By a mile. We...had 9 (3 each) and all were super fresh and very tasty. Get past the ever-so-slightly intimidatory feeling of being a bit out of place in an eatery clearly aimed at the local population and enjoy the authenticity. 3 tacos of your choice off an extensive menu of options was $9 so it was also really good value. The tuna one was particularly good. You also got some corn chips and a super spicey sauce to dip. Other street food was also available but the tacos got me there and I didn't pay that part of the menu much attention. All in all; excellent.More

I would bet that Lily's has been around longer and they are bigger. The sell more tacos. They are a little bit cheaper. East Beach Tacos has a larger selection as well.
