Small sushi alcove across the street from the Fairfield. Great find! Very large sushi plate. We shared it, along with an eggplant tempura. Nice ambiance, hardworking staff, but sometimes slow... as they get busy and there's a line by 7 ish...

We tend to visit at least one sushi restaurant wherever we travel since my wife is a sushi fanatic. Nice large pieces of fresh fish and BIG rolls. They don't press the rolls tight, like most sushi places, which may be part of the reason they look so large and tend to fall apart, but they are very good. This... More

The best sushi ever. The fish is very fresh and tasty. Other cooked foods like unaju and chicken cutlet curry is amazing. The appetizers like edamame and hamachikama is also delicious. The service is quick and the dishes were clean.

Never had better sushi than this restaurant. Very small and authentic Japanese cuisine. Freshest fish and really good miso soup and appetizers. Love this place!

I have been to sushi restaurants with bigger menus, more variety of rolls, but Naka's is still the best ever! The rolls are huge, the sashimi slices are generous. I don't even want to say anymore because I don't want to lose my seat at the sushi bar. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but this place on... More

Sushi is my favorite food. I have lived in the Santa Cruz area for 10 years, and my husband grew up here. We both agree that if you are looking for the BEST sushi, with fresh fish and generous portions, this is the place! The restaurant is owned by Naka and his wife, and has a very authentic feel. The... My boyfriend and I stayed one night in Santa Cruz...pretty much on a whim, and we were beyond pleased to discover Naka Sushi. These Sushi Rolls are the size of most burritos. And they were fresh and delicious. We live in Chicago and have seen everything when it comes to sushi, but Naka was unique. And definitely memorable. The decor... More

This sushi restaurant is a tiny but wonderful place to eat if you have small party. Fresh sushi that is made with clean hands attatched to owners. Wonderful selection and price. Thank you. the only thing I did not care for is how big the individual pieces were when ordering rolls. Any bigger and one would expect a meatloaf. I... More

Naka's is across the street from the more popular Pink Godzilla sushi bar, but the food at Naka's is far better -- huge nigiri pieces and rolls with authentically Japanese combinations of fish and vegetables, in large American sizes. Not much in the way of cream cheese and macadamia nut rolls here! Naka creates the edible works of art, and... More
