I don't drink coffee or tea but I do eat cake and this Peet's has one of the best carrot cake I ever had, and I've had a lot of carrot cakes, (I even make my own on occasions). The cake is moist, delicious and has golden raisins instead of nuts. Try this cake the next time you visit Peet's... More

Have gone there for years. Nothing else on Montana Ave measures up. Staff is well trained and forever cordial. Coffee drinks are good. Indoor and outdoor seating. Acoustics are poor. Some areas are very loud -- and cold in temperature. A nice place to read, work on a computer, or just hang out.

Sure there's Starbucks nearly across the street but this place has everything they do just not the lineups and their patio is nicer too. This is people watch central without the tourists. Another option to walk, shop and people watch so you need some java too!

Great quality ingredients, friendly service, and fun environment. The staff really try to accommodate all your needs with their excellent service. No reason to go anywhere else.

Doesn't matter if it is coffee or tea ... the brew is always right, staff is friendly, and when Spyros, Alan, Joe and other regulars aren't around there is usually a place to sit. -- Truthfully, those mentioned and other many regulars kibitz nearly daily at Peet's 14th & Montana Ave. Yet, generally it is possible to find a chair... The coffee is rich in flavor which is unique for a coffee chain. The beans are ground before each cup and it really makes a difference. They have a selection of pastries and seasonal sweets. I look forward to the first sip of my iced non fat vanilla latte every time I order.

Chains need to understand that a good product does not always cut it. We went to Peet's last Sunday on Montana. They make a better brew than Starbucks for sure and Montana Ave has many coffee establishments. A good experience from a cup of coffee to a fine meal has to be complete. We sat outside and the table was... More

Am staying across the street from Peets on vacation, how lucky am I to have this gem on my doorstep? I can't tell one celebrity from the next, I just love the atmosphere, the wide street patio and the relaxed feel. I like the hazelnut americano and the choc chip cookies are amazing

A great chance to rub elbows with the Santa Monica locals, from the beautiful ones you recognize in the movies to the dog walkers, joggers and especially bikers.

Consistently better than Starbucks. Higher end and without the artificial ingredients.

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
