We visited this place a couple of years ago. It is expensive, but the food is great so we had to come back for more!

Ivy at the shore is exactly what you would expect foodwise. Beautiful meals, high level of service. Perhaps just a touch stuffy for the area, but if you are looking for a high end choice, it is worth considering.

For brunch, the Ivy has always come through for us. On a recent visit, I needed to escape the crush of humanity on the beach and sidewalks and slipped into the oasis of the small Ivy bar for a Bloody Mary. Perfection.

Crab benedict hit the spot - it was quiet at 9ish in the morning ...on a Wednesday. Complimentary champagne is always a good start to the day!

Visited Ivy in Los Angeles a couple of years ago. Great experience. Went to Santa Monica and it was a great disappointment. The facility was a copycat of the original restaurant and the food was a close to disaster as you can get. A Margherita that tasted like it was made from Margherita mix. Stone crab claws filled with air.... More

This restaurant is just classic good food, good drinks, good service. The Santa Monica location is the best as the other one is more a scene to be seen!

Absolutely loved our dinner here. Yes it was expansive but the food was unreal and the service was excellent. Loved when we walked in the door and received a complimentary glass of champagne.

There were 3 adults and we all had very good quality meals. We sat outside and the area was covered and had outside heating and pillows and blankets if you needed them. We all had some form of fish and we had sides and salad which was very tasty and filling. The atmosphere was good plenty of people around and... More

From the complimentary champagne as a greeting to the coconut cake finale for dessert, it was an enjoyable meal. Fantastic atmosphere in the covered patio. Guacamole was very good. My daughter had the chicken enchiladas and I had the grilled vegetable salad with shrimp. Both were delicious and portions are quite large. Expensive entrees - most in $30 range. Nice... More

Fabulous menu, great bread. Lobster tacos were average. They should have left off the spicy seasoning and let the lobster taste stand on it's own. The quality of the lobster was a bit tough. Desserts were fresh and good selection. Had a bit of trouble getting refill on water.

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
