The word “dhaba” refers to a highway restaurant in India with the suggestion of hearty, tasty, unpretentious food. This establishment in pretty, cool, Santa Monica, only a couple of blocks from the ocean, cleverly borrows the moniker with a wink and a nod, and lives up to it, handsomely. I’ve visited a handful of times over the years, and the... More

Fancied a curry and converge at the hotel sent us here . We felt rushed as it was a Sunday evening . Menu very small not much choice . Pakoras and samosas were OK . Plates were cold and food not hot enough when it came to the table . My husband had the chicken vindaloo and I had the... More

Visited this place during our trip to LA as we craved some Indian food. The taste was outstanding, fresh and homemade. Service was great too. The decor of the restaurant however can use some remodeling to be in par with current times. That would really do justice to this place.

Stumbled on this place whilst on a video shoot in Santa Monica. The hostess recommended items from the menu and boy was the food good. Highly recommend!

I'd passed by here many times and it looks very nice from the outside, especially the garden area. I did like that the food is locally sourced. It's a very typical Santa Monica type restaurant in that the menu has been adapted to local tastes. I found the food a bit overpriced and not as flavorful as typical Indian food,... More

We were a large group, and they rearranged tables to accommodate us. The hot chai tea was good and I really liked the vegetable korma. We all shared, and I was surprised that the serving sizes were so small for a group of nine people. The other foods didn't thrill me, and I couldn't taste any garlic on the garlic... More

We ate here on the last night of our USA trip and loved the food. It was a very quiet Wednesday night but the service was great, fast and the food was wonderful and fresh.

We went to the Dhaba as my husband fancied Indian food before we went back to the UK after two weeks in the US. He said he has walked past the Dhaba so we booked it. When we turned up the place was very quiet and it was a Saturday night. The waiter was charming and the menu a bit... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
