So far this is the best traditional Chinese food we've found in Santa Monica. We've visited twice and had good experiences both times. They're conservative on spice, so if you like heat ask for extra spicy. A very good value!

Dragon Palace isn't a fancy place, but as neighborhood restaurants go, it's a winner! It's always pretty busy and they have a ton of takeout business. All of the popular Chinese American favorites are available. The seasoning can be on the mild side. For example, the Hot and Sour soup is neither. But other mainstays like Moo Shu are great.... From the moment you walk in you are treated as a "king". The staff pay attention to "details", frequently asks how they can help and the food is beyond excellent - I've gone back days in a row for the Hot n' Sour Soup - on a cold day or not feeling well...YUM! The staff give off the message "We... More

Having toured Santa Monica, it was my daughters birthday and she wanted Chinese for dinner (rather that the other homogenised Steak and Italian offerings in the centre near the pier. Sat Nav and Google search brought up the Dragon Palace with good reviews, further inland on Santa Monica Blvd. So off we "Uber-ed" there, and no regrets at all. A... More

We went to this restaurant after a hot and sweaty day around LA. Immediately we were welcomed by glasses of iced water what a relief and they kept on being refilled by an extremely attentive waiter. That was much appreciated. Food was fresh, tasty and great value for money we all loved it. Even when my youngest ordered chicken fried... More

We were staying in the comfort inn across the road and following great reviews we decided to give this Chinese a try. I was apprehensive as I approached as it looked small and you couldn't see in the restaurant because of curtains. We opened the door and it was full just two tables left. Very pleasant friendly staff, popular with... More

We had chicken chow mein , mini appetizer plate, beef and broccoli, broccoli and garlic sauce ,and steamed white rice. The chow mein was average, would not order app plate again (pork had a lot of fat and gristle and was dry. Both broccoli dishes were very tasty and would order again. The food arrived steaming hot and all veggies were... More

Great choice for a takeaway meal. The food is good with decent servings. Friendly service in the restaurant. Did not dine in but certainly seemed busy.

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
