Claims to be one of the 10 best Mexican restaurants. Touristy. Service was awful. Our waiter litterly disappeared and never came back. After 1 hour we asked where our food and waiter were. We got salads!! I love dos cominos. Sadies in New Mexico. Would never, ever go back here. Nice outdoor sitting area overlooking the sf bay.

What a fun place. Two of us shared in the Cinco de Mayo celebrations here. The food was really good but the hit was the water front. Great view of the bay. The sail boats were out and the weather was great. Really recommend this for a night out on the edge of the bay.

When the place rolls out a sign that it's "one of the 10 best mexican restaurants in the country" you know trouble is ahead. What it shows is that for the money you can buy sponsorship of any publication (Money Inc. in this case). 25 years ago Guyamas was magical. It made fresh tortillas on the premises. All of the... Guaymas has had its "ups" and "downs" but we were very pleased during a recent visit for dinner. The food was better than ever and the service was excellent. Prices have been increased, but with the recent improvements it's worth it. We will return.

If you go to Guaymas be prepared. Friendly service, delicious food, a gorgeous view across the bay, and one of the most tasty margarita's I have ever had. We had a carne Abadan burrito and a Guaymas salad. Both were excellent! Go!

Don't bother. Go for the view to another restaurant in town or grab an IPA and leave. This was a fantastic restaurant in the day...mid '80s. It has gone down the tubes. Did they drag that food up from the bottom of the bay, warm it up and salt it or what!? No wait...dredged up sludge would taste better. Just... More

Right on the water so the views are great. Food was OK. Combined, these make this a nice place for a sunset dinner or for lunch.

When we asked in the shops about a good place to eat, we were recommended the place next door. But when we walked along the water, everyone was at Guaymas and the place next door was empty so we went to Guaymas. Lovely patio, good chips with two types of salsa, and the food was very good Mexican at quite... More

The food was extremely overpriced and the menu, and waiter, were not flexible AT ALL! No substitutions, no additions. They have no combos on their menus so you get ALL tacos, or ALL burritos, or ALL enchiladas. The chicken in my chicken fajitas was flavorless and grisly....I gagged and was unable to finish. The chips were stale and I'm not... More

Upon recommendation of a friend we stopped in to this waterfront restaurant after a long day of hiking in Muir woods. Glad we did. The view across the Bay into SF was gorgeous. The margaritas are very tasty and we'll prepared. The top shelf and the grapefruit margaritas were our favorite. The fish tacos were wonderfully light, the skirt steak... More

Voted one of the 21 Best Mexican Restaurants in American, by Thrillist, Guaymas Restaurant is positioned after the original City of Guaymas in Mexico. Guaymas, Mexico is a fishing village on the Sea of Cortez. There, the fishermen journey out each morning for the Camarones Gigantes, the large shrimp, which have brought their town its international reputation. Guaymas Restaurant upholds the authentic, fresh cuisine of Mexico home to America. Guaymas is not just a Mexican restaurant, it is an authentic "south of the border" experience. The menu, inspired by the traditional Mexican foods of celebration, focuses on authentic Mexican cuisine made with farm-to-table ingredients, duplicating the flavors of the small coastal fishing village for which it is named. The seafood featured, includes grilled giant shrimp and fresh fish selections. Also featured are grilled meats and fowl, classic traditional Mexican favorites, housemade tortillas and tamales, fresh salsas and guacamole, and many other regional dishes not typically seen on this side of the border. To compliment the menu, the bar at Guaymas offers an extensive list of margaritas, tequilas, beers, wines and agua frescas, which are as authentic as its food. Guaymas offers the best of the authentic, fresh cooking of Mexico's colorful culinary heritage. Our interiors also offer an authentic environment featuring white stucco walls, exposed wood beam ceilings and a bustling exhibition kitchen. Colorful paper hangings and woven upholstery add a festive touch. There is also extensive use of outdoor seating. In addition to a full bar, banquet and catering services are also available
