No frills, very good price and quality. The halibut was moist, flaky and delicious. Had the lunch size and it was just perfect portion. If you're looking for a fish place that has good food and is not fancy (and doesn't have fancy prices) this is the place for you!

My girlfriend and I shared the Shrimp & Scallops (charcoal broiled on a skewer) and the Atlantic Salmon. We ordered all four side dishes (romano potatoes, rice pilaf, cole slaw, and fresh tomatoes) creating a colorful collage for the eyes and taste buds. It's a great way to sample a variety of what the Crab Cooker offers without busting your... More

Good but not outstanding; surely missing the atmosphere of the Newport location. Clam (Manhattan) was excellent although I personally would have preferred New England.. The lobster skewers were very good but I was completely disappointed by the bread. Pricing I believe is identical to the Newport location which is probably not warranted.

1st timer, After reviewing the responses, I took the drive from my hotel to 17th st. eatery... I did wait about 5-7 mins, before a waitress saw me and offered to seat me... They have a cold seafood case in their lobby where customers were ordering fresh seafood and take out. I had the crab chowder crab appetizer, and ythe... More

There is nothing like the ambiance of a visit to the original Crab Cooker at Newport Beach; however, the Tustin restaurant has the same, good food and rarely a wait. Family visits take my husband & I to Orange County every 2 months, and every visit we must go to Crab Cooker. We have been doing this for 40 years,... More

There is a quality of seafood that only people with generations of experience can offer, and that quality fills the menu at the Crab Cooker. I just finished off a plate of chilled Dungeness, and it was the best I've ever put in my mouth. For crab to be that good, you need to know exactly how much salt to... More

I stopped here not realizing it was like a cafe and a bit noisy. I ordered the Crab cakes which were loaded with dungeness crab. I really liked the smoked albacore. So if you don't mind no ambiance and good seafood this is it. Prices are good unless you order lobster at $31.

This is a restaurant that lacks frills. Don't get me wrong, that is not a bad thing. This restaurant put its energy into getting the crab and seafood done right. It is not concerned about pottery and silverware and fufu tablecloths. If you're a beginner, don't be shy about asking your server for claw or leg crackin' tips. Eating crab... More

Went to the Newport restaurant 2 years ago and it was crowded, pricey and "ok" food...tried Tustin location tonite hoping to change my opinion...still pricey, food "ok" but less crowded although server was pleasant. Bottom line, not great seafood especially for the price. Also be advised the clam chowder is NOT New England style, it is Manhatten!

When you are in the mood for fresh fish and don't want the fuss and bother of fancy fish houses, go to Crab Cooker in Tustin. Always good, no pretense. Crazy, eclectic vintage "decor." I tend to order either grilled salmon or swordfish. I love that the fish isn't drenched with sauces (though they do tend to use butter more... More
