Maki-Zushi isn't in a great location but they're a good local choice for good sushi at a reasonable price. One of my favorites is the cilantro tuna lover's roll. The service is usually friendly and welcoming. They recently introduced happy hour which make the restaurant more appealing for the budget-conscious.

Casual atmosphere. Friendly attentive staff. We enjoyed solid apps and sushi. Prices are appropriate. Need to get draft beer. A new go to place for Irvine visits.

When you order nigiri or sashimi, you may need to specify that you don't want any sauce on it. I couldn't taste the fish on the sashimi dish we ordered. The udon dish was good. A bit on the pricey side.

Fantastic Japanese cuisine, thoroughly enjoyed the sushi and sashimi. The service was efficient and friendly too. Its a lot more expensive than usual sushi places but the food was most definitely worth it. I thought the prices for beer was reasonable $7 for first large bottle of Asahi and then $1 for the second, similarly my friend paid $9 for... More

Whether you are in the mood for some fresh sushi or want to mix it up with a Bento Box or Udon noodles... you will be very pleased with any of the above selections at Maki-Zushi. I've been eating at this restaurant for a few years now and the quality of the food has remained consistently great.

If you want to experience live delicacies including, shrimp, octopus and sea urchin - this is the place to get it. But it doesn't come cheap. The food here is top quality, but also very expensive. Recently, their prices have risen about 75%. Two months ago it was 2.99 for your typical sushi, with 30% off in Happy Hour, it's... More

The sushi is good, the waitress is friendly, and you're gonna pay. But, of course, that's sushi for you, so it's not really out of line with any other sushi place.

Sorry to say this place is slipping in quality. They are often out of several of the fish listed on the wall menu and don't bother to tell you until you've ordered. The cooked food is nowhere near as good as it was a year ago. To make things worse, they have suddenly developed an attitude in which sushi bar... More

Maki Zushi serves both a very authentic edomae sushi as well as the Americanized stuff, so it's a decent place to go for people with different needs. For sushi connoisseurs, it's mandatory to sit at the bar and get all the great items flown in from Japan.
