Nice to have a vegan and organic alternative in Ukiah. Has a homey ambiance, colorful and photogenic decor, friendly and intimate staff. The menu was a little out of my budget, with few snack options. Loved the Sweet Potato Fries and BBQ Tofu. Check out the painting on the back of the building.

The only thing going for this hole in the wall is that all the food is vegan so no animals died to make the unappetizing fare. Ordered a taco salad after conferring with the server for something not spicy. Paid the extra $0.75 for chips. Well, what she didn't tell me was there was ground beef substitute in it. I... More

We stopped here on our way back to Oregon from CA. The organic/vegan-friendly ring to it was tempting since we were reminded of one of our favorite restaurants in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands - Natural Livity Vegan Restaurant. Taste buds gets 3 stars & not above because of three reasons. Overpriced food, small serving sizes and extremely oily sweet... More

Although it is supposed to be a good/only location in the area for vegan food, what they offer is overpriced and lacks taste/flavor. We found that our friend's money was wasted because he traveled from another town (to accommodate a vegan and a vegetarian) and picked the tab. Even the restroom was in shambles.

While staying at Vichy Hot Springs, my girlfriend talked me into going to Taste Buds for dinner. As usual my reception to her suggestion of a vegan / vegetarian joint was lukewarm at best, but true to form, I ended up loving it. The mafe' and lentils were delicious, as were the pakora. I'd recommend this place anytime.

I think it's a hippie/Rastafarian place, it's all vegetarian or vegan, and the food is delicious. I had the 5-item plate from the serving trays and everything was outstanding. Some of it was spicy (jerk spices, I think), some sweet, and some mild, but all of it was great. The kids had typical kid stuff like hot dogs or grilled... More

I found Taste Buds on Happy Cow and was quite pleased with the food and the service. I had the house made burger with fries. I was particularly hungry due to traveling and missing dinner the night before. I enjoyed my meal so much that I immediately ordered another one and ate it on the spot!

I have been going to Tastebuds since they opened. I rarely get the food to order because it can take a minute to be ready and I'm normally stopping to eat in the midst of running errands. The buffet is hit or miss. Sometimes it's good sometimes not. The kale salad is something I've ordered a lot and sometimes the... More

The food is reasonably priced, and for those who avoid gluten or meat, a good place to catch a meal. It has a counter-cultural vibe, and the food is not gourmet quality, but it's fresh, and organic and healthy.

The menu is a little limited but the food is good quality and hearty. Originally just a little hole-in-the-wall take-out place, they expanded and now have a seating area which is nicely appointed and mostly cosy (it could use a rug and glides on the chairs to soften noise but I like the salt lamps and other warm decor).
