Our colleague wanted to take us to a Mexican restaurant in West Hollywood with great food and Margaritas. I would never have known it was there. It looks like something from the 1970's inside but this really adds to the atmosphere. A lovely gentlemen came up and told us the food on offer. There is no menu. It's all verbal.... More

We stopped here for dinner. All seven of us, five from Pennsylvania visiting. We all found the resturant and food amazing , and a memory was created after visiting all the LA sites. Half of us had the daily special that was made of beef slow cooked all day. The younger of the group had tacos that were beyond the... More

Untouched 1974 decor, cozy atmosphere, family joint with a verbal menu and the best margaritas by the carafe you will ever have. Exactly what you need when you've hit your dinger of beautiful people and kale.

Me and my friend we were in the neighborhood and while we were looking to something to eat we happen to stumble upon this place and thought of giving it a try. The lady who took our order (also the owner of the restaurant) was a very sweet person. She was very welcoming. We had guacamole and chips as our... More

This OUTSTANDING restaurant, with no menu, is about to close its doors! I've been enjoying meals there for the past 43 years and this nostalgic, always great food, great margaritas, and overall the best Mexican food & hospitality is closing its doors! If you get a chance, dont miss this last opportunity for such a great dining experience! GOOD BYE... More

We read the TripAdvisor reviews and expected authentic Mexican food. But this was the US version of Mexican food with the automatic refried beans and white rice which gives Mexican food a bad name. This was definitely not what I ate in Taxco. That said the salsa and the chips were ok (I was hungry). The beer was not the... More

I went with friends and ordered a mole chicken meal. Really delicious and creamy texture. It came with herb rice and refried beans. Friends ordered their pork and we got some nachos too. The ambience is warm and cosy and its inviting. There was a lot of singing in the table nearby and it added to the experience.

This place is a blast from the past serving authentic Taxco Mexican food with a flair. The staff will sing the menu, accompanied by a guitar and a little bit of "canta no llores" to begin your meal. The drinks are boozey-get a carafe of margaritas if you aren't driving! I love the enchiladas-and they feed you like family, so... More

I love this restaurant. The food is always amazing and yummy. I'm always so happy to go back here, because there's no hipster experimentation with the food. It's always straight forward, full of cheese, and delivered by waiters with lots of love. I just saw an article that their landlord might try and screw them. I hope not -- or... More

Staying in West Hollywood

Neighbourhood Profile
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
