We went here on a whim one day and ended up really liking it. Some good brews on the list and the fish 'n chips was great. Friendly service from an overworked gentleman who never lost his cool and maintained a great air of professionalism....More

The food here is just not good. Stews were barely warm, fried stuff wasn't hot, happy hour specials none (only domestic beers no food). Stews served with slices of French bread instead of Irish soda bread. Good for larger gatherings be aide there is more...More

Yes the fish is really good but there are many great items on the menu. Seems like mostly a local crowd who return frequently. Pool table in back too.

Very nice place, if they had a "traditional breakfast" and opened earlier it would be an all day winner. Until then, the fare is exceptional, the Guinness sublime, and the staff exceptionally cordial. Try some of their innovative sandwiches and tasty chips and you won't...More

This place has been on Tennyson for years. It's a great place to meet up friends from a drink. The crew that works here are always fun and cam pour a good drink. The fish and chips and buffalo burger are my favorites on the...More

We aren't into pricey steakhouses for this Hallmark holiday. We decided to try Patrick Carroll's in the Highlands area and avoid downtown Denver. We started the evening by ordering the poutine with a bowl of the pork green chili. WOW!! The generous portion of fries...More

Atmosphere, service & drinks were excellent! Otherwise this rating would be lower. The food - mediocre at best with the exception of the Colcannon appetizers, which I would definitely recommend. I ordered the corned beef and cabbage - which one would think would be awesome...More

My son and I stopped at Patrick Carroll’s on a recommendation. We arrived around 12:00 PM and were seated promptly. The pub atmosphere stood out as well as the beer and food menu. We both had Fish and Chips with a beer. The beer was...More

We were on vacation in the Denver area from Minnesota. We happened across the restaurant as we were out exploring the neighborhood. The food was fantastic and affordable. Happy hour was great, and the Moscow Mule was second to none. Great experience for us both...More

Description
32nd and Lowell, where sister pub Three Dogs Tavern is located, wasn't the only corner of the Highlands neighborhood with a dearth of quality watering holes (dearth, of course, meaning serious shortage or drought - a great and underused word). The 41st & Tennyson neighborhood, aka Berkeley, was a pint short of a party as well - until Patrick Carroll's opened its doors in 2005. This place defies stereotyping. At lunchtime you'll find the place packed with dudes of every stripe (back in Hoboken, you could always tell the best deli or burger joint by how many plumbers' and roofers' vans were double-parked in front of the place). In the evenings, it's happy time for a wide spectrum of folks - from Bimmers to beaters, many booth-hopping to check out the collection of old-school family photos from Taunton, Massachusetts, of all places. Patrick Carroll, you see, was a Boston-area blacksmith back in the late 1800's, and from his loins sprang a whole bunch of crazy, Irish Carrolls, one of whom ultimately founded this pub. You remember Samuel Adams: Brewer/Patriot? Well, this is Patrick Carroll: Blacksmith/Pub Guy. Kind of gives new meaning to the notion of getting hammered? Anyway, Carroll's is the proud home of homemade fish & chips, smoked wings, and the Scottie Burger: a burger smashed up with A-1, cheese and bacon into a delicious mess. It's actually named after a Guinness merchandise rep who invented it while working as a line cook in some dump. Oh yeah, and he's from Ireland, like that matters. So, ride your cruiser bike on over (or buy one from the cool guys at Fly Bike Shop down the street), check out the thriving art scene and browse the cool shops which dot this old town strip. Then strap in for some tasty fare, a well-poured Guinness, and enjoy one of the coolest bars in Northwest Denver. Open 7 days, 11am - 2am Other stuff: Pool Table, Shuffleboard, Dart Boards, Big Buck Hunter, Board Games Neighborhoods served: Highlands, Berkeley, 32nd & Lowell, Sloan's Lake, Northwest Denver, Regis University
