Tamayo serves really good margaritas in a nice, airy space with a view of the Front Range. We were here for lunch and enjoyed our blood orange margaritas but found the food to be lacking spice. When the server very considerately asked how we wanted...More

My wife and I went for lunch and we were the 3rd or 4th table seated. The hostess was very pleasant: that was the high point. Our server was, at best, ambivalent and uninterested. We ordered Margaritas (relatively weak) and an appetizer (so-so) which arrived...More

My husband and I ate here for lunch when we visited Denver for The King and I at the Buell Theater. The atmosphere was fun, but the fish tacos were a little "off" - one was very fishy and overall, they just didn't have enough...More

We’ve been going to Tamayo for many years, and although we don’t get to go often because we live in Steamboat, we try to go there whenever we visit Denver. Last night we were shocked to see how much they had changed their dinner menu....More

Disclosure: If you have big eaters this is probably not the place to go. This is not the typical Mexican restaurant we go to and it was a nice treat for our vacation. We were seated by the street and it made for a beautiful...More

This is not your typical Mexican restaurant. Tamayo is fine dining; thoughtful dishes prepared with care; quality over quantity. If you are into quantity, however, you need to partake of their bottomless margarita Sunday brunch; an unlimited offering of fantastic small plates.

What a great deal for happy hour! Discounted margaritas, house wines, and sangrias and a really great selection of happy hour apps and tacos! The al pastor taco was my favorite, but the steak taco and the wild mushroom flat bread were also good, but...More

The menus at Tamayo offer a modern interpretation of authentic Mexican food with recipes created by critically acclaimed Chef/Owner Richard Sandoval at his Maya Restaurant in New York City. Our warm decor is spectacular with amber & coral colored walls featuring exquisite artwork that includes silver encrusted toucans, silver and volcanic rock guacamole bowls & Mayan masks to keep a watchful eye over the restaurant. Tamayo is truly a unique dining experience for intimate business luncheons, dinners, social events and large celebrations as well.
