Great tasting and creative food. I and my wife enjoyed dishes the likes of which we'd not experienced elsewhere in Durango. We enjoyed both unique (and nicely spiced) offerings, as well as delicious twists on the more traditional. The service is personalized and the bar both friendly and relaxing. We've been two nights in a row, and are hoping to... More

I had a locals discount coupon, thought I'd pick up a few things. I bought a sandwich, got my free cupcake. They were offering buy a take and bake get a 2nd half off. I picked up a few dinners and nearly fainted at the over $150 Bill. Granted the sandwich, cupcake were excellent as was the take and bake... More

Durango's Yellow Carrot specializes in gourmet take out with a limited daily selection of delicious choices, including vegetarian and gluten-free. It's a good idea to call ahead to see what's on offer. This is the perfect place to stop for something to take to a pot luck supper or dinner at home when you just don't want to cook. It's... More

We've made a semi-annual tradition of purchasing 9-12 of the Yellow Carrot's giant, beautifully decorated cupcakes to place on a platter for birthdays in place of cakes. They have so many flavors that its fun to quarter them and let people try multiple flavors. Our daughters get a kick out of the pretty decorations. The basil limeade, the wonderfully seasoned,... They did a great job with my son's wedding. Their food is really good. We had a potato bar. Which was delicious. The only thing I would change is to label what was at the food bar. They also did the flowers and cake which were absolutely beautiful. The cake was also delicious. .

My husband and I love Yellow Carrot's sandwiches, whether for breakfast or lunch. They are huge. (Can't you just picture that orange man with the tiny hands saying it?) Wonderful combination of ingredients. The flavors make you say "yummy" over and over again. Prices are comparable to sandwiches you'd find elsewhere in town, but you definitely get more for your... I stopped by here today for cupcakes. I love cupcakes and get excited when I find a local bakery that has unique flavors with locally sourced ingredients. The Yellow Carrot fit this bill. I arrived later in the day (after 4 pm) and, as I expected, the cupcake selection was limited. I purchased the Lemon Blueberry and Oreo cupcakes. They... More

We had rented a VRBO in the Durango area during July and one of our first stops in town was The Yellow Carrot. For the kids we got the Mac and Cheese, for us adults, we went with the Beef Stroganoff. I think the bag weighed about 8 pounds as we walked out the door. That night we had both.... More

This is a good place to pick up a picnic lunch. I like to visit the out of the way attractions at the north end of Durango (I.e. Animas Mountain, the Animas Museum, the river trail), and enjoy a delicious sandwich.
