Great food, ambience, and wait staff. Had the prosciutto e avocado which was homemade spinach pasta with shrimp, prosciutto, avocados, garlic, and cream. A unique combination of ingredients that were simply spectacular. Go!

A friend and I visited for her birthday and we had a wonderful meal. My dinner was outstanding and the service was excellent. I had the shrimp scampi and it was wonderful, very delicious. We had wine with dinner and it made for a very enjoyable meal. The restaurant is very popular so reservations are suggested. It is a great... More

We went here randomly on a weeknight looking for some higher-quality food on our last night in town. Delicious all around, including appetizers, wine, and entrees. Service was great, and we loved the outdoor seating by the street. The zucchini and squash pasta dish was really tasty. Definitely a great choice for a more formal meal, even though the atmosphere... As soon as you sit down, you are presented with breadsticks (pre packaged - but good) and the most divine spread for them. It is made of (I guess) butter, ricotta, sun dried tomatoes, garlic, herbs - if I could make this at home, I'd sell it! You know you are in good hands! I like going out to lunch... More

Randomly came across this restaraunt in downtown Grand Junction. It was about 8pm and the place was not very busy. After a brief discussion between a waiter and host, I was seated next to the front door. They were closing early I was told because it was so quiet. I ordered a blue cheese horseradish salad. It was good but... More

We stopped here for a treat the night before embarking on a 5 day mountain bike excursion. What a treat it was! Very original menu, complex flavors, and excellent service! We felt pampered! A diamond in the rough of the Western Slope!

Recently had dinner at Il Bistro and loved the food! Many Italian restaurants are heavy on tomato sauces and parmesan cheese, but I found the food to be very flavorful and well balanced with lovely cheeses and light sauces. Loved the truffle oil fries for an appetizer! The only draw back was we were seated right next to the front... More

Stopped here for drinks and dessert, was not disappointed! We still got free bread as an appetizer which was good. We ordered tiramisu, chocolate decadence cake, and key lime pie. They were all amazing but I would definitely recommend the tiramisu! Wine, lemoncillo, and mojitos were all also really good. Friendly service and classy ambiance. Would love to come back... More

We've eaten here at least half a dozen times. This place is simply wonderful, best calamari we've ever had anywhere! Linen table cloths, professionally attired and very friendly staff. Their food is excellent, very generous portions, we often split one entree. Great wine selection. We usually buy some of their pasta to take home and cook. Highly recommended!!

il Bistro Italiano opened in August 1998. Our focus is on bringing a combination of traditional Italian dishes together with some innovative ones created within the boundaries of modern Italian cuisine. The pastas, breads, sauces, and desserts are all made at the restaurant from fresh ingredients. Our wine list features a large selection of wines from Italy and Colorado, and whenever possible, we use local ingredients in our kitchen. There is always something going on at the Bistro, so look at the Events Section to learn of special wine nights, cooking classes or other featured events.
